He wasn't even the main character in them. He had Pitt, Damon, and Hopkins to help him out. Not to say he didn't do a great job, but he had great actors with him. Machinist, Batman Begins, American Psycho, Equilibrium, Rescue Dawn, Harsh Times, etc. were all carried by Bale. Norton is a great actor and I love his work, but he doesn't seem to be the main character or carry as many movies as Bale. I won't say one is necessarily better than the other, just that I'm more of a fan of Bale.
