Yes. There should be no exemption to the ability of an adult to carry a concealed handgun on a college campus. I recognize instances where the exemption should be made, but this is not one of them.

Yes I support it, but from what I hear a snowball in hell has a better chance of making it

my feeling is unless the school can assure me that no one else has a gun on campus why cant I have one,

No.

All it takes is one person misusing it to make it a mistake.

No.

Campus police, and cops who are students, that's it. What happens when someone with a concealed handgun appraises a situation as more dangerous than it is, and shoots someone? Or if said person flips out?

I'm a gun owner, but I'd be happy if handguns were banned altogether in the U.S.

Very good point. I would also add that school security is underfunded and therefore understaffed. On most college campuses, there are not police officers in every building, and if there are, only one or two. Also, even if there were more, I want the ability to defend myself. I feel I have that right, and if I am licensed to carry a concealed weapon, I should be able to.

This is no different than being licensed to carry a concealed weapon anywhere else.

At Southern it's even worse. There may be 1 cop for every 10 buildings were classes are going on at a time.

You are a fool. What would banning handguns do? It would take guns away from people that bought them legally and are registered. Its like marijuana being an illegal drug, doesnt make it go away.

Yes or No, have you ever stayed in a country where guns were outlawed?

So what if one responsible concealed carry permit holder were to be at Virgina Tech and stop the killer before he got to number 32

The fact is that being it is aganist the law to carry a gun on campus only stops those who follow the law, if you are going to break the law and flip out and shoot somebody then you are not going to worry what the law says about concealed carry

to qualify for a concealed carry permit you have to go through an axtensive background check, be finger printed and go through a lengthy hands on course approved by the state ( mine was 10 hours)
