igoringa LSU Fan Atlanta Member since Jun 2007 5981 posts	Big 10 - OSU fans please respond (Posted on 12/5/07 at 8:14 p.m.) You know there have been a mountain of posts demanding respect and comparing the Big 10 to the SEC... in over a dozen of these I have mentioned the following fact set and the response from the North has been deafening silence. What I am basically asking is how do you get around: 1) The fact the Big 10 has had only won winning bowl season this decade. ONE. 2) This conference lost to such juggernauts as App State, ND State, Bowling Green, Iowa State, Duke, W Michigan and Florida Atlantic. Every SEC loss except 1 was not only to BCS conference teams but all of them (excluding the won) on bowl teams. How are these facts compatible with any argument favorable to the Big 10? I too think the big 10 was down. That, however, does not mean that the best team in a down conference doesn't deserve to be on the same field as the SEC Champion. Ohio State gave up 10.6 points per game. That'll win you a lot of games. Especially the ones you are supposed to win. I am looking at you LSU.

Ofcourse that makes up such a small fraction of both conferences OOC games.

If anything that just means the rest of the competition is a peg higher than the big 10 which is a peg higher than the SEC.

OK, I will type slower.... where did I say it was relevant to the game? Please tell me where, because multiple posters seem to see this somewhere and I cant find it. I said there were numerous threads (starting by people with the Buckeye O I might add) discussing conference strength and to that I am responded. Do not recall saying, "Thus LSU by 35" (there are plenty of other reasons for that).

LINK the B10 has 10 teams that are bowl elidgible. in non conference play, purdue, MSU, indiana; undefeated in conference play. NW and illinois are normally HORRIBLE but they only had one loss in non conference (grant you, Duke can't be overlooked) Michigan had a horrible start, but it is a much different team than the one that got embarassed from the start and PSU and Illinois can play spoilers. Wisconsin and OSU are solid teams, but missing something from being top caliber; consistancy. The B10 is losing its parody (except for minnesota ) and people will look at this from the midwest and want more respect. In my opinion, the B10 should get more respect but is a year away from making a lot of noise and is still behind the SEC overall.

Never said it was irrelevant. It is a matter of looking at the population or a sample. I am choosing population and you are choosing a sample. LOLOLOL If that is the case, the SEC would have a pathetically brutal bowl record even worse then the pathetically brutal bowl record the Big 10 has.... alas we all know that is not the case (although some of us do not like to admit it).

Ten of 11 big ten teams qualified for bowls. NU and Iowa missed out on bowls, but 10 qualified. Before you state as fact that the big ten is down wait until the bowl games are played and we see head to head matchups. Last year the Big Ten went 3-1 versus the SEC so last year the Big Ten was better if you based it on facts.
