Police Officer in a knife fight (Graphic)
The photos are of an officer trained in hand-to-hand combat.

The officer figured, due to his size and fighting skills, he could disarm a knife wielding aggressor.

To all the idiots out there who always say, "Why did the cops have to shoot him? He only had a (insert your choice of weapons here, i.e. knife, bat, club. whatever). He didn't have to be shot.

To that, I respond, "tough crap".

If an officer tells you to drop your weapon, just drop it.

If you're a retard, stupid, on crack, or just "scared" .. too bad. No one deserves what this cop got for just doing his job.

This is vivid proof of how deadly people who are "only armed with a knife" can be. Some of the public think that officers should try to disarm someone armed with a knife but anyone who has had training in knife fighting will tell you - even if you win you are going to get cut.

Why did this officer not pull his service pistol and cap the Knife Guy?

Why was he not wearing his vest? Was the Officer off duty? Kevlar will defeat a knife attack, all of those wounds would have been prevented by his service vest.

knives are extremely deadly. i trained in street fighting (form of mixed martial arts) for about 5 years.....

we did a great amount of knife training...scary stuff....in fact all of my instructors told me at close range (arms reach) they would rather deal with a guy with a gun than a guy with a knife.....

Actually, kevlar will stop bullets, but not neccessarily knives. Different trauma points or something.

New Kevlar Vests will stop Knife attacks as well as bullets. Google it. But the New Class III-A vests are designed to stop a knife. Stab or slash.

Ok. It's been over 10 years since I've worn one and that's what we were told.
I'm glad that they have improved them.

On a sidenote, if you watch SURVIVING EDGED WEAPONS, you will shoot, then say "drop the knife".

Bull crap. It isn't a cop, it was a homeless guy that gat mugged and stabbed. Quit starting crap. If it were a cop, that is one dumbarse cop to let a guy slice his arse up like that. You'd think by the second or third 2 foot gash, a cop would let it go.
