LSU actually was hurt by losing the SECG last year. If we had missed out and only had 1 loss still we would have been sitting pretty for an at-large bid. Hopefully we can take care of ARK and we have an outside shot at an At-large bid

With Boise St and ND in the equation, No way the tigers will get an at large bid to the BCS. Remember last year the two loss ND team beat out a one loss Oregan team! The media and the pollsters will surely over look the tigers.

In the 2001 season both LSU and Florida went to a BCS game ... LSU went to the Sugar Bowl by winning the SECCG and Florida lost out to Tennessee in the east but still went to the Orange Bowl and kicked ACC Champ Maryland's arse...

We could change that outlook with an impressive rout of Arkansas.

Agreed....but I think ND should get in if they beat USC with those impressive wins over the likes of Army, Navy, Air Force am I forgetting a powerhouse......

CFN is projecting Arkansas to beat UF in the SECG and UF still getting an at-large bid.

We're not really competing with these two...ND is going to get in regardless as will Boise if they beat Nevada. It's a race for one spot. LSU (if we beat Ark) is essentially competing with the SECCG loser, the Big East runner-up and possibly Oklahoma.

The year we beat Tennessee in the Championship Game, they went to a BCS bowl.

No, they beat Michigan in the CapOne Bowl.

If we beat Ark and the SECCG is a blowout (either way) I think we are sitting pretty. It would also be helpful if USC beats Notre Dame and Rutgers could beat WV (doubt that one). When it comes down to it, the decision for the bowl is based on money, so they want a team that travels well. I think that means a SEC team not Big East runner up.

Am I the only one who thinks the CapOne Bowl is NOT in the BCS?

There are 10 BCS Spots now.

Tie-ins with: Pac-10, Big-10, SEC, ACC, Big 12, and Big East

Right now the tie-ins are as follows:
USC, Ohio St, Michigan, Florida/Arkansas, Georgia Tech/Wake Forest, Texas/Nebraska, Louisville/WVU and Notre Dame.

If Boise stays undefeated and wins out, they may get the 9th bid. I believe the 10th bid goes to LSU if we beat Arkansas this weekend.

If you take the winners that is only 8. And Notre Dame plays USC and if they get beat that opens another at large (3). Surely LSU is in the top 3 if we beat Ark. I don't think a BCS will take a Big East Runner up or ACC runner up over LSU. Also if Rutgers beats WV they go to the BCS (big east winner).
