(Posted on 11/7/09 at 3:22 a.m.) Has anyone ever sat down and just thought why people care so much about college football? It's a bunch of 20yr old kids playing a sport you know lol? From the dawn of time, people always feel more secure when they own the space around them. The bigger, the better. Football is a turf acquisition sport. The more you move the line, the more you acquire, the safer you feel. That, and purple and gold is pretty.

Louisiana is not ranked high in many things but we collectively come together for lsu football. the same for bama and auburn.

You watch him get all crazy when he watches his team, and this is very different from how he acts around your five year old self. when you get a little older he tells you stories of when his Dad used to throw the radio in the back yard listening to the games. it is about family traditions. Billy Christal said Baseball in New York City, was always about your Dad. Same thing. Dad told me and my bro that at 80 years old he has had a great life, and is proud of us, and doesn't want extreme measures taken if he gets sick. We were watching the Tigers at the time. HBO has a great program about the Maze and Blue vs. Ohio State rivalry. This was there conclusion too. It is not about football. Strange hugh?

It's just funny how we let these kids have so much impact on our emotions. it's simply an escape from the every day....living vicariously so to speak. to think these bunch of kids give a populous braggin rights is actually quite silly. life and college football results are mutually exclusive. in all seriousness, whoever loses, turn off the TV and go have a good time with your loved ones. Done this sooooo many times, especially during the Hallman/DiNardo years. Fortunately, I've also attended two games in the Superdome with the same people, when times were better. The emotions experienced with LSU winning or losing are real for me regardless and hard to turn off immediately unless we are just getting our asses kicked. An LSU win in a big game like this with a lot on the line always gives me a high better than any drink or drug. I have developed quite an addiction over the last ten years.
