re: Curb your Enthusiasm
quote:

People last week were complaining that it wasn't believable. Tonight's episode was very believable and very well done

definitely one of the best ones in a while. I LOVE Super Dave, and the guy from Spin City (never remember his character's name or the actor's name) is just such a perfect putz. The only far-fetched thing really was the stone mason at the memorial service. He just happened to be the guy Larry used, who just happened to want a hat, who just happened to show up at the memorial and know Funkhauser....

And was the club owner in on the engraving? if not, then why the hell would he walk to Larry's mother's grave with Larry.

But the swan made up for it all.

And, yes, the show is very predictable; but that's sort of what makes it funny.

ETA:
quote:

"Would you finish shoveling that shite in your face so we can go"

best line of the episode, with Jeff's "don't tell her anything" rant being a close second.

re: Curb your Enthusiasm
quote:

Obviously not known enough.

to be fair, Cramer, Jerry and George each represents a different aspect of Larry's personality [disorders]. But George is definitely meant to be at least the shell of Larry (Larry is a multi-multi 10X self-made millionaire, and George has barely ever had a real job, so obviously the semi-lovable-loser part doesn't fit).

But Larry on Curb is obviously a caricature [damn, i finally learned to spell that right on the first try] of himself. Larry said that Curb-Larry is how real-Larry would act if he could get away with it.

quote:

One other funny thing about this show is reading everybody fighting about it

tru dat.

Anyone notice how Larry (on the show) is almost identical to George on Seinfeld? Go back and imagine Larry and Jerry's conversations this season and imagine it's George. I think that's why Larry got mad that Jason called George. Moron and unlikeable.

LD has stated on record that George Costanza's personality and baldness was based on himself. A lit if the things George did were things that happened to Larry in real life.

Even in the show, they had George and Jerry pitching NBC to do a show and it was George's idea (Larry) to have it be "a show about nothing."

re: Curb your Enthusiasm
From the Jerry - Larry interactions, Jerry has a little George in him too.

this does make sense about George just falling into a cushy job with the Yankees

Sucked. The cosmetology school thing is just another example of poor, lazy writing that I have a hard time believe LD is himself responsible for.

The ending with the stonemason was stupid too.

It really seems like some of you guys has never seen an old episode.
