re: 18-0 Colts versus 18-0 Saints in the Super Bowl
It would be unbelievable for me. I've been a Saints and Colts fan for almost 40 years.

I have pictures of me as a kid with a football helmet that had the Saints logo on one side and the Colts logo on the other.

But if the Saints and Colts both made the Super Bowl, the Colts would be trash to me. Saints forever, baby.

Bull shite. Only two teams in the histroy of the NFL have made it through the regular season undefeated. (the 72 dolphins and the 07 patriots). And you think it could happen twice in one season?

Technically it could.

Here's the title for this game:

The "frick you Mercury Morris" game

I'd say I'd love to see his reaction to this, but I'd be lying if I said I ever wanted to see him on my TV again.

I don't see why not.

If you mean it has a .000001% chance of happening, sure. Both teams still have to play the Pats, which will knock off at least one of them.

Don't use that term around Rex... he's the biggest athiest douchebag on the board. I find it funny that he's offended by all things religious...but loves "the Saints".

I say the Saints have a 14.5% chance of going undefeated. The Colts have a 10.0% chance.

Simple math: A 1.45% chance! You're off by several decimal places.

And after the Saints defeated the Colts 49 - 10, ESPN would still have the Colts ranked no. 1 in their Power Rankings...

LINK

How about 2.6% for the Colts and 2.9% for the Saints to go 16-0. So for both to go 16-0, you're looking at .08%. OK, that's fairly reasonable, considering the history of the league. Now, there is currently about a 12.4% chance of the Manning Heritage Bowl, so in order to make it the Manning Heritage Bowl WITH both being undefeated, I would estimate that out to be about .009%. Not great odds, but not impossible either.

Interesting link, thanks, BUT....

I have more faith in the Saints than old DAVE, who probably runs on old worn out transistors.

Who dat.

The DAVE rating will go away in a couple of weeks, and at that point, it will be purely the numbers for this season, which means that the Saints odds will go up slightly.

re: 18-0 Colts versus 18-0 Saints in the Super Bowl
Well, one thing really great about it would be that at least one team would be guaranteed a perfect season regardless of the outcome of the Super Bowl itself, and the overrated '72 Dolphins would finally be nothing more than a footnote in NFL history. That was one thing that was really great about Mark McGuire breaking the single-season home run record, the overrated Roger Maris finally disappeared from the MLB record books for good.
