You could attend, sell them, leave early, or not go at all. However, you do not have protection from the use of that right. You presumably chose to attend and leave when you didn't like what you saw/didn't like the weather. By definition, that makes you a fairweather fan. If you do not like the connotations of being a member of the group, stop acting in ways that makes you a member and stop trying to deflect from your choice by saying you have the right to make that choice.
