That core is about to say "frick it" ..
No...No they are not.
My SEZ "core" has been essentially the same since my dad brought me for the first time in the late 80's. Many of the faces have changed, but the last names, for the most part, have not. I may go a season or two without seeing them. They may sell most of their tickets in any given year. But they will not sell the rights to their season tickets.
The monetary investment is secondary. Assuring my two kids have seats when they are old enough to attend games, and have the same awesome memories that I had as a kid, is much more of my focus than the occasional 4 loss year. I grew up watching arse kickings from Spurrier and perrenial mediocrity...and they are still some of the best memories I have. Hell, the beatdown we received in a typhoon when FSU came to Tiger Stadium is still a great memory. To most with season tickets for a long time, the win-loss record plays only a tiny factor in renewing every year.
Two years in a row of non-January bowl games ain't gonna cut it ..
LSU existed, and filled the stadium just fine, prior to 1999. They will continue to do so.
Though I do agree that the expansion is bad timing.
ETA: BTW... I got $350 a piece for my A&M tickets
