I like Les Miles. I think he's a good guy and very entertaining but he's not as good a coach as Saban.

I like to think of myself as a realistic Tiger and I'm good with Les. I see running tiger is still posting and quite frankly you will be pressed to find a sunshine pumper on his level.

and herein lies "the problem". I know of no one that would disagree with you. "the problem" is that a segment of LSU fans simply will never be satisfied with miles BECAUSE he's not as good as Saban. never mind that Saban wasn't as good here as he is at bama; never mind that Saban will never return to LSU and never mind that if these yahoo's run Miles off we PROBABLY (and imo, we likely) would end up with a coach that's not as good as Miles. Why? because top flight coaches don't grow on trees. when a school searches for a HC, they are limited to who is available. some posters on here seem to think LSU can just go out and get Gruden, Harbaugh, Carrol, Belichek, Kelley, etc as if there is no contractual minefield out there and as if all of these coaches are willing to come here. not counting our own money woes if we pay a huge buyout to miles and have to help our incoming pay a buyout and then pay buyouts to our asst. coaches, etc. the reality is that it's tough, very tough and very expensive to get a new coach. almost without exception schools end up settling and have to go thru it again to get it right. one doesn't have to look any farther than what Florida is going thru now, what Bama went through after Bryant left. yes, Miles can be frustrtrating but he has the ability to win it all and I hope like hell he does it again.

Maybe Maybe not. Nick is considered the 2nd best coach in the professsion and deservedly so. He's very good but he has weaknesses if anyone cares to look.
But i admit, if money was involved, Id take Saban over Miles at any college other than LSU.

He did pretty well at MIch St. But, brought no one with him from the staff ZERO,Offered several coaches and no one accepts a big payraise and a great chance to elevate their career. Not 1 taker. Plane came back empty. Thats as hard to do as getting the #1 recruiting class.
Clemson's coach doing as well,as Nick did at Mich St, so is Whisky's guy, Ole Miss, Miss st, Stanford's, Okie St.... etc...Theres always Plenty of up and comers doing well in big conferences waiting for their shot.

How hard is it to win at LSU if u give a hoot about recruiting? I do give him credit here tho final result excellent job, A+. But, he didnt have to coach and recruit against former LSU HC Nick Saban at Alabama or Urban Meyer at Florida.

Then lies about leaving to the final minutes, leaving LSU to fend for itself in early January. Thats how u treat the people that gave u that shot. Nice example to your players as well who believed u, when u said u were staying 101 times.

Goes to Miami and cant win and cant get anyone to listen to him. Lies all the way to the end and takes the easiest gig In college football. Knowing he can recruit as well as anyone and Tuscaloosa sits right in the heart the best recruiting grounds in the country.Add in they have the most money as well for an arms race.
I'll throw Nick a bone here, I would've lied to Huizenga and pro players with the Dolphins, if it meant locking down the ALabama gig, myself.

Alot of people can win at Alabama. Theres not 1 coach that didnt win at Alabama that ever won anything anywhere else. Many coaches could win 8 games a year there.

He's still a very good coach and he cant help inheriting the best gig. Cant hold his success against him. 3 out of 4 is 3 out of 4. Thats an incredible feat regardless of how.

Both 2011 and 2012 were so close to being LSu's but instead both years go to the former coach. Changed the landscape on how these two are perceived.

As for as LSU goes... After Nick fricked us over big time, Miles came to the rescue. This guy hit the ground running and has never stopped. What he has accomplished at LSU takes a back seat to no one.

It doesn't.

I only care about winning and competing for championships.

If the positigers think it makes me a bad fan for putting winning above all else, then so be it.

I'd rather produce good citizens and teach young and old alike that winning a silly football game is a lot less important than honor duty and virtue

Sabin doesn't care about these things
As a result u will see real social DECLINE in Alabama for the foreseeable future

Miles!

quit with the posi/nega shite. it's bull shite that the politicians use to avoid discussing issues and fool the populace. the fact is you just stated that LSU football is all that matters to you, not LSU (as in the college).
I find that pathetic. now if you are not an alum I understand but otherwise you ARE A BAD FAN.

I care about my alma matar. the graduation rate, the lifetime effect a HC has on the young men that play football there, his honesty, his ability to be a quality representative of the college, etc.

there are more important things than winning football games. miles does both.
