This was Hanagriff's rhetorical question from last night. His reasoning: The Sugar is likely to get stuck with UCF, and after last year's Louisville-Florida debacle they'll want someone who can fill the Dome. Provided LSU goes at least 9-3, he thinks the Sugar will want us.

it is just a damn shame that the sugar bowl is forced to degrade itself to this kind of matchup...

that said, the sugar bowl against anyone is a hell of a lot better than the bowl we are actually gonna wind up in...

LSU in the sugar bowl is always a positive if we can't get to the title game. I know many LSU fans dream about a rose bowl and are still mad about not getting into it a few years ago. But, LSU in the sugar is a nice thing and I think better than a Rose Bowl since more LSU fans can go to the sugar bowl at a reduced travel cost.

Yikes that would be a snoozer but it's a BCS bowl and that's all that matters to the rant

I'd be happy to watch us play Furman again if it meant a Sugar Bowl berth.

A&M would buy some tickets too, I'm sure. I'm starting think it will be the winner of our game or Auburn. We need Auburn to lose to UGA IMO

No it's not. It's no longer 1986.

It's a LOT cheaper to go to New Orleans versus Pasadena. LSU doesn't have to pay as much to ship the band, players, and support people and equipment to New Orleans versus Pasadena.

I mean the Orange Bowl would be a nice second choice after the Sugar if LSU can't go to the title game.

The Rose Bowl and Fiesta are far away and LSU has a home field advantage in the Sugar Bowl and in the Cotton Bowl if it becomes big again and the Orange Bowl.

LSU needs to win out. Auburn needs to beat Bama and lose to Georgia. It'll be who is the best 2 loss scenario.
This will put LSU in the SEC championship against either Missouri or South Carolina. Keep in mind that there won't be any BCSNC hope so they would have to win to get into the Sugar Bowl.

As much as I'd love to see LSU in the Rose Bowl, the circumstances setting that up would be something else...Ohio State-Oregon national championship game would have to happen, we beat Gumps and aTm (and Ar-kansas) and Auburn beats the Gumps as well....

Pasadena would never get over the culture shock!!!!! (that alone would be epic to see)

Sugar bowl is what I'm hoping for, but we need to win out first.

Would love to go to the Sugar Bowl. However, I think Auburn gets in.

Is there a way to listen to Hanagriffs show from last night?

Auburn has two very losable games left and another with Tennessee. That's 3 pretty tough games in 4 weeks. If Auburn finishes with a better record than LSU, they'll get the bid provided Bama is in the NCG. However, if the other team is UCF, I think the Sugar Bowl will do whatever it takes to get LSU in there if they're eligible to be selected. I was at the Sugar Bowl last year, and the number of empty seats was pretty astonishing. And that has happened to the Sugar Bowl several times recently.

True. The Sugar wants butts in the seats, what team can fill the Dome like LSU can?

Since the BCSNC is out of the picture for LSU, Sugar Bowl better be motivating them. Even though it'll take a miracle for them to get in. ALOT would have to happen.....but this is the SEC.

Playing a minor team in even a BCS bowl would be worse than a return to the chicken bowl. No interest, no excitement, would be a continuation of a UAB, Kent State, Furman season. Better to go to a lesser bowl and play a big-10 or pac-12 opponent.

I'd hate to pick a side. Undergrad school vs Grad school.
