You guys honestly think our record would be different with a different coach?

If you think this way, you're an idiot. There is a serious lack of talent on the offensive and defensive lines on this team. I don't care what the recruiting gurus say. Our lines suck. Will Clapp is our best lineman and he's playing one-armed right now. This problem would not be any different under a different coach.

Maybe not at this point but at least most coaches would be willing to sit their best player when he isn't healthy against a weak opponent. Instead, our coach lets players dictate his decisions.

Well that's an honest answer at least.

You're either putting O on a pedestal or you're saying coaching ability doesn't matter. Either way, it's nonsense.

You are right. Coaching makes no difference in team performance!

And you call others idiots.

It may or may not be but you can't blame people for being pessimistic due to Os previous stint. I mean come on, he was the worst coach in Ole Miss history so what are people supposed to think? Is everyone supposed to just think he changed because he said so?

So that's what you're gonna hang your hat on? He didn't sit our best player against a POWER 5 opponent? Poor baby Guice can't handle it? Get over it! That's really reaching!

Brilliant post. I'm sold.

Would it be possible for our record to actually be worse with a different coach?

If Les Miles was our coach for all of last season, we would have ended up with a better record. Ponder that one for a while.

Nope, I don't think it would matter honestly. We are thin at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, in the sec no less. We have played 20 true freshmen and have several of them starting for us as well. We have had injuries that further effect our depthoj the lines and we have a first year head coach and offensive coordinator. I'm with you.

Absolutely. Even with Les. We do not lose all those linemen period.

My point is that this team is REALLY BAD by LSU's standard. So bad that I don't think any coach could have a good year with it. Therefore, judging ANY coaches' performance using this team as a standard is not accurate. I think this LSU has a HISTORICALLY bad offensive line this year. No coach or coordinator would succeed to match the usual standard by which LSU is judged.

Am I happy about it?? HELL NO!! It sucks!! But I can at least be logical about it and see where the problems stem from and give the man a chance to address them. He gets one more year to show significant improvement and if not, we move on. Simple as that!
