I addressed the need to mix it up in the passing game. But it was a glimmer of hope that out of 50 offensive plays (lol), 21 of them were passes.

I don't think Harris is great, but not many QB's perform great under constant pass pressure.

I have seen many people who could perform in rehearsal who blew it in the performance. Perhaps Harris is one of those.

When Harris DOES have the rare chance, he stinks it up, though

Harris started out 0 for 3. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn on any of those throws, and he certainly wasn't under pressure for all of them. The line play left much to be desired, the play calling was also lack luster, but when they gave Harris the time to make the play, and the play called was appropriate for the situation, Harris could not execute. He simply was not accurate enough to be a credible passing threat.

Harris has a lot more to offer than we saw Saturday. Let's get off his back and support the kid.

Of the few times Harris was given a proper window to throw he performed well.

No he didnt!!

When you run an offense that is 75% run, your quarterback does not get the reps he needs to settle in... he does not get the reps to be in sync with the WRs...

And then, when he isnt in sync and isnt settled in, we rely on him to make the big play when it counts... its fricking stupid to believe he is ready to achieve under those circumstances... no matter who the QB is, they fail.. have failed... and will continue to fail

The only exception is Mett, but he won on a big stage before he got here... he is the one and only statistical outlier

So I guess Ckapp threw that int with over a minute left to play?

Clapp had a terrible game. terrible. he's one of main reasons our line sucked; not counting the illegal motion penalty tha tput us in the bad position on the last drive.

I keep seeing this post and its wrong. It absolutely is driven by scheme and our predictability.

When the defense knows you are most likely running toss dive out of the I formation and even if you throw you have two guys to cover because we don't involve our TEs, then the defense will expose us.

The Oline and Harris were bad because our scheme and its predictability of play calls dictated it. They aren't given the chance to succeed...been that way for years. Do you guys really think we continue to get to rated Olineman and they all just play terribly?

Iagree that Harris was not the problem save for his interception at the end.

True the O line play looked very bad alot of the time it almost seemed as if they weren't trying.

IMHO that is in fact because the Oline in particular is thoroughly disgusted\disheatened by the realization that nothing was gonna change from previous seasons and they would be once again expected to run block against 9 man fronts and defenders who knew exactly what the play was before the snap.

On several occasions I saw upperclassmen o-linemen simply step aside at the snap of the ball as if to say " frick this bullshite !

To say that Les & Cam have lost the lockeroom is a massive understatement.

Poor BH6 and LF7 are just the beneficiaries of the big uglies' disgust with their coaches.

Upon rewatch it was very obvious to me that our O-line was atrocious, and that was the main problem.

People get so excited about our Recruiting classes, but the truth is they're chock-full of 4-star WR's/TE's and DB's which inflate the ratings. Look at the defection of WR's who have left in the past year (Diarse, Quinn, Tyron). These guys represent scholarship players whose place will not be filled until the next year. Then you have TE's that don't get used properly, then they turn a potentially good DE (C Roddy) into a worthless TE.

Recruiting priority should be to get elite OL and DL. The game is won in the trenches.

His interception at the end was due to:
A) play calling, why the hell are we passing in that situation
B) coaching, he had an open field for 6-8 yards. With coaching he would have have known what to do in that circumstance
C) he does not real like to be hit. Sure, no qb does but he is more skittish than most

When a quality defense knows your scheme and you keep playing into their strength, they have a tendency to make your OL and entire offense stink. LSU's OL is just one messed up part among a whole bunch of messed up parts that start with Les Miles.
