LSU players are showing out in the NFL. OBJ, Debo Jones, PP7, TM7, Spencer Ware, Jeremy Hill just to name a few and we still have Baton Rouge kids that want to go ride the pine at a rival.

Hilliard had a stellar second half of his freshman season on the way to LSU playing for a national title.
I also remember recruiting sites had Hilliard rated higher than Hill. Hill ended up being one of the best to ever play for LSU.

We do not have anywhere near the talent of bama. Good god.
Bama's 2016 draft class alone was almost as big as our last 2 draft classes combined.
There are very few cfb coaches that can recruit at an elite level AND coach at an elite level.
Thats what makes them the best coaches in cfb.
Even the best coaches in cfb,with the most talent, lose 1 game a year.

So you base your theory on one draft class? Jamarcus Russel was the #1 pick of the 2017 draft, so based on your logic he was by far the most superior player in the draft. GTFO here.

No, rick is right. Let's face it. LSU hasn't had the highest rated classes over the past 10 years (using that number simply because of ease and NFL "life expectancy"). While our classes have been up there, Bama has had us smoked in the number of 5 stars (which data shows to have a higher frequency of becoming NFL talent). Other schools have also recruited as well over that time, or better.
So one of two things have happened. Les was either the absolute best at predicting future potential of players who weren't 5 stars and didn't do anything to develop them (which if most rantards had to only pick one of the two, they would choose), or he recruited good players, and did a hell of a job developing those players into future NFL talent. Note: developing talent and preparing them for the league is actually possible to do while also not utilizing them to the best of their ability in college and putting them in the best situations to succeed collegiately.
I would tend to say the latter is, without a doubt, the correct answer.

And Saban is a DB guy vs Aranda who is a LB guy. I know where I would choose to go.
