WVU was as hostile a place as we'll ever play

I could easily see mentally weaker teams get intimidated by the rowdy crowd and electric atmosphere. I'm glad the game was a foregone conclusion by the time the fog rolled in else I think it would have just added to the overall drama.

You have to credit the hillbillies with the hostility they created up there.

When I can have a conversation with the guy 3 people down the row from me in the lower bowl when LSU was on offense in the 3rd quarter it isn't a loud place to play.

I was row 3. Don't remember what anyone around me was wearing, but I do know we had better seats than redneck.

Were you one of the ones there with his "best tigerdroppings friend?"

One of the things that made it tough was that the team had never even seem the stadium until about three hours before kick-off. CLM even said he had never been there before. At least in the SEC there is familiarity with the stadium and what to expect. That has to make a difference and make it tougher to play in that atmosphere.

You don't get out much... I've been to all 12 sec stadiums... Anybody can wave a towel and crank ghetto bass music and jock jams to supersonic decibels... The crowd was weak and not loud. Your ears will ring at the swamp and even auburn at times. Was not impressed

Lolz...that crowd was a joke...southern miss gets louder than that crowd..was not impressed at all with the noise level. Like previous poster said, I could have conversation with a guy two rows over when the crowd was at it's loudest.

I was at the game and was VERY disappointed with the crowd. I had a lot of WV fans ask me after the game if that was the loudest stadium I had ever been in and I laughed at them. Ole Miss got louder than they did

I wasnt there, and although it sounded loud on TV, I have been to Death Valley.... and in Dallas against Oregon, and I cant imagine anything else touching the noise level there..

From what I saw on TV and from talking to the players I know, it wasn't near as loud as SEC venues. The piped in music made it feel louder and I thought they played it way too much in between plays rather than series. If you took that away you have a stadium almost half the size of Bama with almost half the noise.

Watching the game on tv you can clearly hear the "Geaux Tigers" from the band and LSU fans following a first down. After Mo's kick return all you hear is Tiger fans!

Wouldn't a better team make the setting a little more intimidating? That team had no defense at all and no running game going in. Maryland was their best win and look what happened to them. A good team adds to the setting.
