the fact that people even act like tm7 had a bad game is laughable. Hell, the defense as a whole didn't allow a TD until late in the fourth quarter. He gave up ~50 yards on 3-4 perfectly thrown balls. That's how amazing he was that idiots think he played poorly.
I know. He was very good against Alabama, ESPECIALLY in the first game.. where he came across the field to make a touchdown saving tackle.. he tackled their big physical tight end in open space well and had pass breakups.
In the championship game he kept his guy in front of him.
He was such a treat to watch. I am thankful for his time at LSU and refuse to be bitter about anything. I am also more appreciative that he appears to have truly gotten his life in order and wants to be a positive impact for others.. especially others who came from the same type of background as him.. It's rare anyone ever changes.
I am very proud to call Tyrann and LSU Tiger.. and so glad both Tyrann and LSU are on great terms to this day. I also believe it has helped recruiting New Orleans and will continue to.
The cool thing is they, Fournette and Mathieu come from the same HS.
I still think I would take the best defensive player over the best offensive rb.

How about trade for Tim Tebow or Johnny Football?? College version of course...
There's been times where I wonder if it would even make a difference..
I think we have to put our quarterbacks in better positions to have success. I don't want to sit here and knock coaches though. I think we need some confidence at the position though, from both the coaching staff and the players.
I believe Harris, who was personally recruited by Tom Herman, would have tremendous success under him.. in his program.

Mathieu might be the greatest player LSU has ever had over his stretch. The guy was a literal game changer in every sense of the phrase. Not to take anything away from 7 because the guy is as special as it gets. Mathieu was just unreal.
Well said. Each week during the 2011 season the anticipation leading up to the game was matched by his performance on the field.

NFL teams can't make trades with college teams for players

I think we have play makers in the secondary, I just think that the last couple of years with Chavis and the one year with Steele that the Defense was not put in positions to succeed at that style of ball.
Hopefully with Aranda and his attack style D we will have a whole Defense, specifically the secondary, of Honey Badgers.
The DB's need to trim all their hair and color is blonde like TM7 did his final year he played for LSU. Call themselves "Honey Badger Squad"! and if they could all wear the same #, it would be like Batman, a symbol, where anyone could be Batman, like any player could be "A" Honey Badger(Notice I said "A" Honey Badger not "The" Honey Badger as there will always be only one Real Honey Badger). stripping the ball, returning the ball on kickoff and punt returns, playing special teams, blitzing, and being an all out horror for opposing teams.

No. We are STACKED at corner for 2016.
Defense will do their job. Offense needs as much help as they can get.

Do people just have nothing to do in the summer? This thread proves it.

Not to take anything away from Guice, but a lot of RBs would look good carrying the ball after LF7 has softened up the defense for 3 quarters.
I doubt Guice would average 2 YPC more than LF if he was starting and running against a fresh D. That said he's a great back and as close to LF in terms of talent as any back in the nation.

It's been raining a lot lately. Can't take the boat out when there's lightning.

Guice breaks crazy tackles even on special teams. He is a special talent in his own right. I mean the guy came out as a 5 star rb in his own right..
LSU has had great rbs under Miles, none quite like LF, but LSU can run the ball.. they have also had great dbs.. but none like Tyrann. Pass coverage even with the talent has been shaky at times.. Tyrann just has a way of creating turnovers and making game changing plays just about every single game from the defensive position.. Not only was he good in coverage, which is under-rated, he was great against Florida, he lead the team in tackles as a true sophomore.. he literally ran across the entire field to bring down Richardson running for the endzone on the sidelines.. Saved a TD and we won that game. He is an exceptional open field tackler.. he forces fumbles, he strips the ball away, he bats the ball down.. He takes on much larger players with authority. He is all over the field and often exactly where the football is.. He is a tremendous gunner on special teams.. Then he has the ability to break one to the end zone as a punt or kick returner. He was the most exciting college player I've seen under Miles.. and there's been some players. He is about as all-around a player you can get. He has such a gift of being where the ball is and making something special happen. He just as "it" Great things happen with him on defense. I mean even if Miles and the offense is struggling.. you can count on Tyrann to possibly get a defensive TD or ST TD. Tyrann was a heisman finalist from the defensive position and he missed a game.
It's not a knock of Fournette. If I have the option to take a once in a generation of that caliber on defense vs a once in a generation running back.. I am probably taking the defensive player.. Especially if he contributes on both sides of special teams to that caliber. I would take a prime JJ Watt over a prime Arian Peterson. I'm just trying to think of recent superstars. I wouldn't even compare TM in college to any safety or corner in recent memory.. I know that defensive ends are more important.. but Tyrann was just as important to the success all over the field.. If it was a QB.. then we would all take the great QB over any of them. I think we would all agree there.. but any ways, I admire Fournette and am excited. I don't fault anyone for picking Fournette. Fournette is a monster and brings joy to our lives.

Serious question how old are you?

Rewatching clips from old games with Tyrann wreaking havoc while the band played Neck still gives me goosebumps to this day.
