Would you rather have the "rivalry", or lack there of, with Tulane just the way it is now with them being irrelevant and LSU dominating the state athletically and getting all the top recruits OR do you wish Tulane was a stronger athletic school and our rivalry being one of the best like Auburn and Alabama, keeping in mind their success would lead to a split state recruiting wise. For instance, we might still have gotten OBJ and JL but lost out on TM7 or LF7, thus making LSU weaker.

Just want to know what the rant would say?

I think LSU has a tough enough rivalry within its own fan base.

Easy keep Tulane and every school in the state down and LSU above them. You are not only talking about losing recruits but having another school in state that you are on the same level as brings upon more NCAA probes. State and Ole Miss, Bama and Auburn, All the schools in Texas rat on each other all the time to try and jockey to get the best players in state.

One of the weenies' most recently fired HC's walked up to the refs meeting in the corner of the endzone, pre game, and told them "to keep the clock moving". As when the ball was out of bounds, keep the clock going. A friend was in the crew & said that no one in his crew had ever heard such a thing from a HC. The HC wanted the game over as fast as possible. LSU rang up 40+ on them and called off the dawgs early. Frick tulane. Their fan base is UpTown New Orleans/East Coast snobs.

I am glad we dominate the state. But, I do wish we played Tulane still. It's an ancient rivalry and one with a lot of bad blood.

There is absolutely no benefit to having Tulane on the schedule for football.

Who cares about Tulane. They are irrelevant in college football today and would do nothing to help LSU. LSU already has plenty of rivals.

Rather see the players that Arkansas, A&M, Ole Miss, MS State, Auburn, and Alabama pick up from Louisiana go to Tulane than go to the rest of the SEC West.

That is never going to happen when Tulane is playing in the American conference.

Are you fricking out of your mind? Why in hell would any LSU fan want Tulane to be on par with Auburn and take some of our recruits? God damn I wish I could DV more than once.

I certainly could be wrong, but I can't remember an in state recruit that LSU really wanted that signed with Tulane since Larry Smith was their coach and Mac was our coach. This was a big reason he was pushed out the door, Smith was starting to get several guys a year that we wanted, but when both left this stopped.

Even a guy like Mewelde Moore was a guy LSU might or might not have taken, so he went with the sure offer.

I'd rather play Tulane than have to watch LSU play Jacksonville St or any other 1-AA school.

Totally agree. They'll attempt to get in the Big 12 and fail. If they did get in the Big 12 I wouldn't mind. At least LSU could play an in state power 5 opponent. It would be nice if we could play Tulane Rivalry week in football so that we don't end up playing on Thanksgiving every other year. Let the Aggies play Texas if they want that shite.

No brainer, prefer a real rivalry. Otherwise, what's the point?

How is this even a question? We already battle out of state teams for Louisiana recruits all the time, as it's the most talent-rich state in the union per capita. frick the idea of Tulane being anywhere near our level.
