Wasn't it leading off an inning? I applaud his hustle and glad it worked out but I'm not sure it was the smartest decision despite working out in our favor.

The fly ball that scored him was with 1 out. So he would have been at second with 2 outs if he wouldn't have taken the extra base. he was safe because he made a guy have to make the perfect play to get him out and he didn't. I am not going to be mad at a guy for hustling and another guy just makes the perfect play to get him out.

This is wrong but it's beside the point anyway. He would have been at 3rd regardless if you take everything in a vacuum. Smith got a base hit and Freeman got beaned. The bases are loaded regardless of whether he stretches the hit into a double or stays on first. But again it's besides the point.

You right I apologize. I forgot Freeman got hit and loses the bases. Trying to go off of memory sucks. I still don't find it a bad play even if he would have been thrown out. It worked so it ended up being great anyway. The team needed that little spark he gave them also with that effort.

Of course not. You have to applaud the hustle. But if he would have hosed in that situation then you know people would have jumped all over him. Risk outweighed the reward, given the score, time of game, outs, etc. If he does it with 2 outs to get into scoring position.....perfectly ok. The move could have backfired in a big way though.

I'm not saying we should piss all over the dude for hustling, just saying it wasn't the smartest of moves given the situation. It didn't take a "perfect play" like you make it seem. Just took a throw that center fielders can make 90 times out of 100. Glad it all worked out.

Sometimes as a player you just have a feel for whether or not a certain decision will pay off. As an athlete, you've got to trust your intuition, as more often than not it's right, and even a half-second of hesitation thinking about it could close the window of opportunity.

I applaud the kid for going with his gut and making a play he knew he could make when conventional wisdom says the smart move would have been to stay at first.

Beau was awesome last night, credit where it's due.

Great problem to have 2 left fielders both hitting over .300 now...even better one is a righty the other a lefty. Duplantis is the only regular in the lineup now hitting under .300, and that's .294, and that was after starting 0 for 11 was it on the season? Hitting over .400 since the first series.

This lineup right now is showing no holes at all. Guess we will really find out though after this weekend.

It was a good hustle and all, but a good throw has him. Then you would all be complaining about how stupid it was.

We may have lost the game if he was thrown out, because we ended up scoring that inning.

Typical Rant bull shite. Constantly harping on the bad of "what could have happened" instead of being excited for what DID happen.

I bet you are loads of fun at parties.

Explaining that regardless of the fact that it worked out for the good....it wasn't the smartest move to try and stretch it to a double.

You'll be called a rantard by the idiots who don't understand baseball, and think you are just finding something to complain about. Be careful

They both are going to see a lot of time and both will be needed.
I could see them both getting time at DH as well if their bats are better than the other guys in that spot.

Looks like PM has seen enough of Adams.

PM never stops tinkering, you all know that.
