It's supposed to be a major rule emphasized this year and no flag or even a review... he should have been ejected but went on to make 13 tackles.

Is there any debate Etling slid feet first?

5. Sliding Ball Carrier: Defenseless Player (Rule 2-27-14) FR-41 and Note 2
(FR-88)
Add new paragraph j:
“j. A ball carrier who has obviously given himself up and is sliding feet-first.”
Comments: A sliding ball carrier is now protected under the defenseless-player
portion of the targeting rules.

What makes it worse is that the sec office is supposed to review it.

Did the refs do our offensive play calling?

Nobody can blame this loss on refereeing.

The officiating was just bad. We never had a chance.

So if our offense is bad the refs are excused from following the rules?

I was literally screaming that when it happened.

No review either. Typical Ritter.

No but putting the blame on the refereeing is a joke. We didnt score a point and thats not on the refs.

Where did I say we lost because the missed calls? Why are some fans OK with bad officiating? I think LSU Likely loses 6-2 or 6-5 with correct officiating. I don't see a win but it would have given them at least a chance not having to fight bad calls off as well.

Actually 2 points are missing entirely due to bad officiating.

I don't think he's saying we lost because of the officiating.

The league is, or we were under the understanding that it is, all about player safety and so forth.

Etling gives himself up and slides feet first (right there he's considered a defenseless player), receives a helmet to helmet hit, no flag thrown and to top it off, no review from the league office.

So is it a rule or it's just a rule "sometimes?"

I didn't see anyone in this thread say it cost us the game. But you have to admit some of the calls were pretty bad. Including this one. That is what this thread is about.

Oh yes I can. I can take away 7 from them on hurt's TD (holding) and give lf7 that 7 for the referee BLOCKING him until the red shirts could catch up.

Hat alone took care of it.

When did this happen? Trying to watch the replay and thought it was in the first?

One of people's biggest complaints about the sport in general is that everything is flagged in todays game. I enjoyed watching a game where the refs let the players play and there wasn't a flag on the field every other play. We did not lose because of it.

Yea, you can't read

And there's a difference between letting them play and absolutely blowing a call that is supposed to be reviewed by the sec office and was a clear violation. A call that every other team has had to deal with all season. Furthermore, lsu actually did get called for a bs late hit in the game.

But you can't actually argue against the actual point of the thread, and apparently are unable to comprehend simple sentences.

Been hearing this utter horseshite for the last few days; and it obvious people who say it never played a down of football in their lives.

There is something called momentum which is crucial in college football; and which LSU had with the crowd all night. That is until the beginning of the fourth quarter which started the bullshite calls by the referees.

And these bullshite calls ended up:

1) extending the Bama drive for their lone TD of the game

2) obvious but put 7 points on the board for Alabama's first and only TD score of the game.

3) took the momentum away from LSU late in the game.

ETA even if they don't score and we don't either it goes to OT. Think about it before you try covering for the terrible officiating late in the game.
