Watching LaMarcus Aldridge ball out in Portland and TT not even on a squad makes me sick.

Did TT have personal issues? Was he not ready? How is there such a gap between the 2nd and 4th overall picks that year?

Him and Stromile Swift will forever be head-scratchers for me. How can they not succeeded but Garrett templet and big baby make it in the NBA.

One has size and a jump shot, the other does not?

Tyrus was the perfect guy to point out superior talent that couldn't put it all together. If it was how they wanted him yo be a defensive guy or he did not put yhe work in we will never know.

Honestly I think Houston could use him. With Harden being so terrible on defense I think Tyrus could play some nasty back-side defense at the PF spot next to Dwight. His length and athleticism would slow down Aldridge more than the super slow Asik

Tyrus came into the league the same size as a guy like Taj Gibson, with similar basketball skills and slightly better athleticism.

Gibson will play for 12+ years, while Tyrus has already flushed out.

Every team could use a talent like Thomas, but not a, allegedly, cancer in the locker room.

Hell the Bobcats, who amnestied him, could use him the most of any of the playoff teams.

Tyrus can dunk and block. That's not enough to make it. His game was more refined than stro, but TT doesn't have the skill set needed. He's too weak to compete down low and doesn't have the ball skills to play small forward. He was just a great athlete with a lot of hustle.

He was unreal that year at LSU, but it's not shocking. Out of all of the guys mentioned, bass had the best overall game for sure. Good rebounder and balance on offense. He's a bit undersized, but he's physical enough to make up for it.

Poor attitude and lacks the size/bulk for his skill set.

A friend of mine knows tyres personally. He told me that turns is in Baton Rouge working out right now. Believed to be trying to make a come back at the league. He, unfortunately, did not receive a call from a team last offseason and is hoping to have a team call him this summer. I have no idea about how he is progressing in his workouts though. I'll try to get more info.

Every time I see Aldridge I remember how he had no chance against TT. TT had him stuffed that whole game

He has no offensive skills whatsoever

I'm not sure how you can say Tyrus' game was more refined than Stro. I don't agree with that at all. Stro played 9 years in the league so he was hardly a bust in the sense of a flameout like Tyrus.

Can't blame him for taking the money as a #4 overall pick, but he wasn't NBA ready after his freshmen year.

I wonder how much of that he has left? Hopefully he put a lot away for the future.

the 3rd pick was Adam Morrison. he had an even worse career than Tyrus. 06 was considered a mediocre/ bad draft talent-wise beforehand, and may have ended up worse in reality.

Stro did ok for his career and I think had injury issues toward the end of his career. GT is a fringe NBA player, not sure he "made it", but I could see him sticking around a little while off someone's bench. Tyrus never really seemed to embrace the role set out for him by his teams (and then he also couldn't stay healthy). so much of the NBA is about a team's front ofc/ coach figuring out a player's role, and then the player being accepting of that.

Tyrus, Stro & Anthony Randolph...I thought they'd all be a lot better. Has Marcus Thornton been relegated to the bench wherever he's at?
