Ducre? Isn't he really fast (4.5 or better), and wasn't he a Running Back in high school? He seemed like a grown man when he arrived on campus, but he hasn't busted an egg yet. Thoughts?

He was a 10.6 100m 22.18 200m I believe.

Kid has crazy wheels for his size.

At the end of the day if push came to shove and all of our backs were injuried, there's at least 10 guys on the roster at other various positions that ran the ball throughout high school. LSU will never be in a position where we lack a ball carrier.

Kid has speed to burn. 4.6 is entirely possible.

Go back and look at his HUDL highlights. He was a man among boys.

we have full backs. I literally was thinking this today. I wish they would make him lose weight again and move back to running back.

I would let Devin White have 4-6 carries a game. He might shock the world.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw the depth chart in another thread. If Guice goes down we got some problems.

Another example of Miles and Cam trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. He was never going to be a good power FB in our offense. That's just not what Ducre is.

Thankfully, he may actually still fit there under Canada. He loves mobile TEs and FBs, and will use them to run and catch the ball, as well as block. Either way, I have a feeling Ducre gets himself on the field next season.

Guice, DWilliams, and Brosette. How is that no depth?
Plus, Etienne coming.
I have no idea why everyone has turned so sour on DWilliams.

Sorry we can't always have a stable of Fournette's and Guice's

This. And Etienne is a beast. Depth problem? I think not. I swear.. the sky is ALWAYS falling for some of you.

PS I haven't heard any talk about RB shortage.

There has been a lot of talk about it on the Recruiting Board, because Etienne is not a done deal yet. A&M did a good job selling that he was just a back-up plan for us, and he has publicly stated that they're still in the lead. If he doesn't come, then we are pretty ordinary behind Guice, at least from what we know right now.

There is also a rumor going around that Lanard might transfer over to UTSA to play for Wilson.

There is also some worry about what happens next year if we don't get Etienne. We have eyes on Franklin from MS, by there aren't any difference maker backs in LA, and we would need to bring in at least two.

Hopefully O and Juluke can get things smoothed over with TE and all will be well.

Ducre the Mystery Man.

He's been talked about on here.

There must be a problem somewhere as to why somebody that big and fast hasn't played. All the usual reasons why a talented athlete doesn't play.

* Doesn't know the playbook and/or his responsibilities..... (Speed is negated when you have to slow down and think about what you're doing. Coaches lose confidence when there are too many mental mistakes)
* Lazy blocker.
* Weak/Lazy in the weight room..... (May have gained weight and lost speed)
* Playing out of position..... (He's a Running Back, not a Fullback. Hopefully O/Canada will put him back at his natural position and see what he can do)
* Academic Problems.....(Doesn't go to class and/or Bad Grades)
* Undetermined off the field problems that have him in the Doghouse.

His lack of playing time is due to one of these reasons. Not hard to figure out.

Remember, a lot of guys like Ducre go against weak competition in high school and just out talent everybody. When they make the step up to college, they are not quite as good as their HS highlights make them look like................

I don't think he should have ever been placed at FB. He was big strong and fast in high school with good hands in the open field.

He was rated higher than Williams was as a recruit, and is the 2nd most physically gifted RB we have. He's actually one or the most physically talented players we have, and he has been wasted.

Even if Ducre stays at FB, it won't be as much of an issue. Canada used them differently. Remember how Jimbo played Hester as more of an H-Back in 06 when Keiland Williams was starting down the stretch? He moved him around, threw the ball to him, etc. Expect to see more of that than just Power guys driving straight ahead. Moore will probably take to this role, as well. Not sure about Mouton.

I wouldn't be shocked if the playing weights of all three are down by next Fall.
