With Herman, a good possibility of UT chatter every year

I'm sure he's at the top of the list, but this would be a huge concern of the Administration. How much weight should this Carey in the process?

I'm sure its a thought, but so is the NFL. I think LSU needs to have a hefty buyout clause for anyone that wants him, but not to familiar with the contracts at that level.

Absolutely zero. Hire the best guy available. If he leaves, you cross that bridge when you get there. I love the city of Austin, but I don't think Herman's ties to the school are what they're made to be on here. If he really wants that job, no sense in taking the zone, really. It'll open up soon enough.

You don't pass on a guy like Herman because he might leave in a few years. Texas is an attractive job for any coach but Herman has never said UT is his dream job. He spent one year there as a GA. That rumor originated with a UT beat writer who probably thinks every coach would crawl through glass to be the HC of the Longhorns.

Who cares? If he's successful enough for other schools to want him then it's a win for LSU.
