With a 5-3 record in Bowl Games at LSU, Do you consider Les a good bowl coach?

We looked great against Miami, GTech, Notre Dame, Ohio ST,and Texas A&M in past bowl games, but terrible in losses to Penn ST, Bama, and Clemson. I have to say that I dont have much faith in our staff when it comes to closing out the season. I think alot of that has to do with players expecting to be in title games and somewhat mailing it in with the lesser bowls. They give the effort but I wonder if they lack concentration in the preparation. Same goes for the coaches. I hate to see us not show up when we are the only game on during bowl season and we have a chance to really showcase what LSU football is all about.

Penn State is not his fault. The others are.

Yes he is a good coach period. We lost 2 bowl games in a row, one of which happened to be the National Championship. It happens.

i really don't give a shite how we looked good or bad in all of those except for one.

on 1/9 he looked awful. and i back miles.

i will say it was nice dominating ND and that BCS bowls are good to win i guess. so all except two.

Less Miles is a good man, even the players say so.

I used to think so, but my memory of Jan 9, clouds all rational thought...

He's 1-3 in his last four bowl games. Not excellent.

Gotta agree here. The one thing we had over PSU was our speed, but nobody is fast in a mud pit.

So I heard. I like the guy, dont want him going anywhere. I would love to see him get the hell out of the way though. Of course thats my feeling for another thread.

all blowouts

Penn ST 2pt loss
Clemson 1 pt loss
Bama obviously worst bowl performance but look at the circumstance.

Yes Les and the staff are "good bowl coaches"

Yeah no big deal. We had a great game plan though right?

No. but I don't believe in the concept of a "good bowl coach". I just believe that he's a good coach. Which means he is generally good in bowl games, like he is in most games.

I can't answer that question, but I can tell you without a doubt the last 2 bowl games LSU was not prepared for what our two opponents were going to throw at us. I also know the adjustments that were made at the half in both those games did nothing to help the Tigers if there were any adjustments made at all.

Lack of preparation rest solely on the coaches shoulders. Game planning rests solely on the coaches shoulders. Those two factors alone say that Les Miles and his staff did a poor job in those two games and were completely out-coached.

So is Miles a good bowl coach? I don't know but obviously if you look at the last 2 bowls there are better bowl coaches out there than Les MIles.

I wouldn't say good or bad. I'd say average.

Good yes, great, no. I give him a pass for the cap one bowl in the mud, but the "O" vs clemson and bama was dreadful.

I guess saban was no better though with losses to UT and Iowa.
