Defense > Offense early in the season. It's just the way it goes. LSU isn't winning by 3 scores. In the end, LSU's athleticism will win the game but it will be close.

and Russell Wilson fit into this?

Wilson wouldn't have been included in the recruiting rankings having graduated from NCState and disagreeing with the HC over a prospective change in the offense. Chose to enroll in grad school at Wisconsin for a final year.

Wisconsin is solid, if LSU can ever get every unit to play well in a given game they win by a decent margin.

After seeing some of their Spring Game yesterday, I definitely agree. However, I didn't see much else that impressed me. Starting QB looked somewhat capable but nothing special.

With respect, neither of us knows for sure. But I firmly believe I have more chance to be right about this than wrong.

I have history on my side. Every OOC team that's faced us in our opening game under Miles has been beaten by a pretty good margin. I don't expect this game to be any different.

The last 5 you've beaten TCU, Oregon, UNC and Washington by an average of a little over 9 points. Oregon was the biggest margin at 13. It's not like you slipped past teams but they weren't exactly "pretty good margins."

I think at the end of the day this game will look much the same. I'd say LSU by 10.

Why just 4 listed? Because that would throw off your "average of a little over 9 points"?

Oregon was the biggest margin at 13.

Oregon was also the best team in that group. Because they had LSU's full attention. LSU won't be taking Wisconsin lightly.

LSU by 17.

Wisconsin will be one of our most formidable opponents next year. They will have a strong team

No one knows this at all and only after playing the games throughout the season will we have any idea of how good Wisconsin is or how good LSU is.

Why or how in the heck are they always a top 10 contended in the final rankings?

According to the final BCS poll, before bowl games, they are not always a top 10 contender.

2005 - 18
2006 - 7
2007 - 18
2008 - Out of top 25
2009 - 25
2010 - 5
2011 - 10

2012 - Out of top 25
2013 - 19

Kelly went for a 4th down on conversion on our own 40 yard line that got your last td. 13 points was the difference in the game.

Let's try to stay on track, shall we? Wisky game isn't gonna end up any different than any other opening game OOC under Les Miles.

Victory for LSU!

Most people forget how long it's been since LSU has lost an OOC regular season game.

We never have under Miles. From 2005-2013 we've won every OOC game, not counting bowls.

Longest such streak in the country.

I will take the bait on that one until I die.

As far as the whisky game, I like Andersen a lot as a coach. I thought that was a great hire. I say 10 and you say 17. In reality, we're not that far off.

You won't win a NAtional Title in our lifetime either, and Chip Kelly won't ever win a Super Bowl.

Out of the top 50 DT in the 2015 on scout, 3 are West of the Rockies. I like what Oregon has done with the program despite being in a state that produced less than 10 D1 players and half of those going to a BCS qualifying school. John Curtis had more on their defense . Next year should be fun.

I don't care if skip belly doesn't win a Super Bowl. I am a 49er.

I am excited about the Cowboy Classic this year. It should be better than the last couple. Hopefully it's a good game.

I doubt it. Even when we play crappy will still pull it out against pre-season ranked opponents
