The Wisconsin Badgers have always been one of the more high profiled teams in the Big Ten and it has shown favorably upon them in this new season. The Badgers enter the year with a #14 ranking as they seek to open up their season at NRG Stadium against the #13 ranked LSU Tigers.
Wisconsin did a ton of things well last year en route to scoring a 9 win season and they should push that number even further in 2014. Badgers look to give Big Ten Conference a big win to start 2014 as College Football ushers in the 1st year of the playoff system.
Melvin Gordon will likely be the focal point of the Badger offense against LSU. The 6'1 tailback is coming off of a year that saw him average 8 yards per carry while nabbing 12 touch downs. Gordon has breakaway speed, as shown by his 80 yard touchdown trot last year, and between the tackles bruising ability. Junior QB Joel Stave should be thankful for such a big threat out of the backfield.
The LSU Tigers managed to win 10 games in the SEC West last year while holding a winning record against Top 25 teams. In order to duplicate that sort of success they will need to find a replacement QB as Zach Mettenberger has moved on to the NFL.

The Wisconsin defense will struggle again in 2014 and that spells trouble in opener as this years Super Freshman is on LSU. The Tigers Leonard Fournette might be the best RB in nation if you listen to the experts. Most describe Fournette as a faster Adrian Peterson, pretty high praise for the 5 star recruit. Other difference in this one is the LSU defense, the Tigers have reloaded on defense and might feature a top 5 secondary in 2014. Hard to predict at this point, but 31-13 or 27-10 is what I would run with at this point. With LSU winning of course.

Nope, and LSU's record ATS is horrid lately.
Thing is, first week is always the time to get Vegas if you ever are.
Still somewhat confident LSU covers -4 so may put a few bucks on the game to make it even more interesting.
