Wisconsin has the best defense in the country. He is a top 5 DC.

Of course we would love him but I'm not sure he leaves for another DC spot. He wants a HC role.

ETA:

Not sure who’s downvoting me but here are the National Rankings:

Scoring Defense: #1
Rushing Defense: #4
Passing Defense: #8
Total Defense: #3

he might not be a bad hire. Especially if he is looking to become a head coach. He could come here, cash in and then go get a head coaching gig after next season. B/c he will be due for a head coaching gig, why would he care if he's tied to Miles?

He is from Cali. I think the guy would be a spectacular hire. We could offer more than USCW and 1 million in BR is like making 500K in LA.

I thought Southern Cal was revisiting Clancy Pendergast as DC. See below.

Clancy Pendergast to become USC DC

Though it's not a done deal.

It would be hard to beat USCw for that guy; he is from the west coast and wants to get back. It would be a home run hire for LSU if it were to happen, though.

I think you meant to say one mill in LA. Is like making 2 mill in L.A.

This is who we should have hired instead of Steele.

Les tried. Went to see him in person and pushed hard for him. He turned us down and worked for the 49ers.

Dave Aranda has been spectacular at Wisconsin in his three years as Defensive Coordinator. I mentioned this on the MSB, but he has the LB's on cruise control. Wisconsin has had to replace some key pieces each season and they have not skipped a beat.

When he was hired, Wisconsin went from a 4-3 to a 3-4. Since then, only Alabama's defense has allowed less points/game. They've also ranked in the top-five in both rushing and pass defense during this time.

Barry Alvarez has already mentioned that Paul Chryst will receive more money for assistants, so getting Aranda into a more competitive tier should not be the problem. It is well-known that his wife and children are very comfortable where they are at, but understand what it takes for Aranda to reach the top of his profession.

Aranda will be gone... just a matter of when.

Fun Fact about Dave

He was a GA at California Lutheran when Tom Herman played/coached there.

Would a Tom Herman Aranda team be unstoppable? Probably
