Win this game and advance to the SECT final should guarantee LSU a Top 8 seed...

Defeated Florida 4/5x in that streak
Defeated MSU in that streak.
Hell 30% of our wins in that streak would be against Top 5 teams.
I hope Florida busts out the retarded owl again. Did an owl swoop in when Florida was getting its arse handed to them and did it, all of a sudden, reverse their fortune? No? You can't manufacture that sort of thing.

Ole Miss finished 7th in the SEC. They needed to advance to be in the discussion.

I'm not saying they'll be top 8. I'm not saying we will be just yet. It's just that between LSU, OM, and USCe there are lots of arguments for/against each. And with a committee that changes yearly, we have no idea what they'll emphasize.

IF FSU holds the lead, they will play Clemson for the ACC tourney title, could be a play in game for a top 8 seed, loser only hosts. FSU has RPI of 13 Clemson RPI of 6. FSU will likely go up after beating Miami #3 RPI.
SEC has 3 top 8 seed locks
Texas Tech will likely be a top 8 seed
ACC has 2 locks
last two top 8 comes down to (in this order IMO)
LSU
Clemson
Ole Miss
Florida State
USCe
I think if we win this game we get a top 8 seed, if we lose we may not get it. It really depends what happens in the ACC tournament. I don't think the SEC gets 5 with the ACC having a final of FSU (assuming they win) vs Clemson.
note: Miami has two on 1 our down two in the 9th, we need Miami to win.

What puts us ahead of ole miss is how we finished the season 14-1 in our last 15, if we lose this game 13-2. Ole Miss is 10-5 in their last 15. We also finished with one more SEC win.
What puts ole miss ahead of us, higher RPI and they beat us head to head.
So it comes down to what the committee favors.

if it is head to head or RPI than that would favor them.

I care and all but what this team has accomplished is far more than I had anticipated. winning the tourney may not even get us there as far as I know.
beating florida 3 out of 4 tells me all I need to know. as long as we host a regional i'm happy. I think that's a given at this point.
