Will the Loss Light a Fire Under the Team?

I am getting the feeling that this team is going to play inspired football for the next three conference games, rather than folding down the stretch like we've seen in past years.

Obviously it was a huge if not crippling hit to any national title thoughts, but it'll be interesting to see how the SECW plays out.

VERY possible that Georgia with a health Gurley can take down Auburn AND that Auburn can win the Iron Bowl at home this year. If we take care of business the rest of the year, we could be tasting Sugar in January.

It was disappointing, but I for one would rather 10-2 with losses to Georgia and OM than Georgia and Bama.

If it doesn't light a fire under the coach it doesn't matter

We'll know in a few weeks....will prolly sleep walk thru furman and still drop 45 or so on them.

Let's see what happens when we get to Bama...there's the acid test.

I think we'll play our best football against Alabama.

But I would be shocked if Alabama lost to Tenn or Auburn.

Lot of it has to do with Mett and Landry in their comments since the game. IMO, despite Les trying to be noble, Mett lost us that game by forcing throws.

In the coulda woulda shoulda world, if those redzone picsk were TDs, we roll Ole Miss 45-27. I'm anticipating the play-calling opening up again and Mett returning to early-season form. Unfortunately, I think we are what we are when it comes to Defense, but who knows where Manziel will be at that time.

Just a feeling.

Tennessee, most certainly. While I would piss myself at a 2009 Alabama-Tennesse type game, I don't see it happening. But I'm not jumping on their bandwagon either. The teams that they have played in the last few weeks to calm any concerns were Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Easy to look good against those teams.

But I am at least curious to see how Auburn does. The game is at Jordan-Hare and they played us tough if not for a few early turnovers that were were able to convert into quick points. It at least bears watching. They're more competitive than they've been in the Chizik era.

Long shot, but I'm a dreamer.

Everybody loves to beat up on the defense, and they have been bad. But, if I told you a week ago that despite LSU giving up three TO's in the first half, we'd hold Ole Miss to 10 points - I bet you would have been impressed.

The defense, just like last year, played way too many snaps Saturday.

FACT!!!!!!!!! I can understand not being fired up for Furman. But then again. Put the foot down and score 60 and don't get hurt and then focus on Bama, You have two weeks to get the team healthy and fired up for a true battle.

All depends on the guys leaving for the NFL and if they want to win out or if the focus changes to not getting hurt.

Who are those candidates though?
Can't see Mett phoning it in. He is on the verge of being a 1st rounder. I think Landry and OBJ are 50/50 on whether they'd even go. The OL is young, the RBs are young.

Freak and Ego are staying. Loston still needs to boost his draft stock....

I don't see the players like Montgomery etc. who phoned it in where they have elevated themselves to the point where they have something "to protect"

Hill is GONE no matter what. But I think he will work even harder for extra yards and catching the ball out of the backfield.
