I think LSU-Bama in the MNCG will kill the BCS and send us back to the pre-BCS bowl match-ups. Do you really think the Big-10, Pac-12 and Big-12 will continue under a system where 2 SEC teams get into the big money game and leave them high and dry? Especially if they have a conference champ with a better W-L record that actually looks better on paper than Bama? Where Bama gets in because mainly because the SEC is considered a better conference? If they bail on the BCS, then we'll go back to the days when the Big-10 and Pac-10 can win titles by avoiding playing the SEC champ. I don't like that!

I abided by your set parameters then when surprisingly I come up with a legit answer, you change the parameters,

demographics are working against the big 1g, who happens to be the biggest opponent to a playoff...their precious rose bowl will not draw the ratings needed for the money....

to my way of thinking, if the bcs dies, it will be replaced with some sort of playoff....

Knowing Houston wouldn't fit the criteria you gave a smartass answer. So fault yourself for him having to spell it out.

There's an "If" in front of that. If VaTech beats Clemson they'll be 12-1 to Bama's 11-1. If OSU beats OU they'll match at 11-1. Stanford also matches at 11-1, but they aren't a conference champ.

the payout for the bcs championship game is 18 million. other bcs bowls are 17 million. so this "big money" you are referring to is $2 million, since the big 10 will probably have 2 teams in bcs games

The Big Ten commish was making comments last year that they would sooner go back to the old system than implement a playoff.

The "big money" is not just the bowl payout, but the exposure for the conference. This will lead to a lot more revenue.

and he very well may find himself and his conference becoming as relevant as the ivy league....

You are correct. The first step trying to be implemented is turning over the BCS bowl games back to the NCAA.

M = "Mythical" ...as any championship game that doesn't come from a full playoff doesn't count in NCAA records.

Unlikely as the PAC-12 and Big-12 seem to fall inline with whatever the Big-10 wants. Delaney (B10 commish) is the main reason there isn't a playoff or even a "+1",

Gay. Why can't you just say BCSNCG? Is mythical necessary? Because the game is being played. Mythical is more like what unicorns are.

It's a pretty common phrase. I use it because 1) I want a playoff, and 2) I'm lazy and it's 2 letters shorter.
