So many of you are convinced that LSU will land a "big name" coach.

Jimbo is unlikely because the money on the table for him is too high;

Kelly is headed to USC;

Dantonio isn't interested; so

what other "big name" is out there?

I'm old enough to have been through the last time we ran off a winning coach that couldn't beat BAMA, and it only took us 20 years to get back to ground level!

Whether you want to call it ego, pride or Hubris, the LSU Fans, unfortunately appear to have been successful in running another successful coach off based upon the misguided belief that, simply because "we're LSU" that the next coach will be better, that our beloved leaders are even capable of choosing the right replacement, that we actually have the coin to got get anybody we desire, and that everybody on the planet is just killing themselves to move to Baton Rouge!

Well, congratulations, you got your wish!

If it takes us another 20 years to recover from this potential mistake, i'll still love and support LSU, I'll continue to be a season ticket holder and I'll continue to go to the games even if we go back to 6-6 seasons and dreams of the Independence Bowl once it gets bad enough.

But I'd be willing to bet that the majority of you that were so damn jacked up about firing Miles since the day that he arrived won't stick around!

20 years of anguish versus listening to another incoherent miles explanation on why we lost? Tough call actually.

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but you weren't a season ticket holder, or probably even alive between 1989 and 1995 were you?

I was and don't buy all the doom and gloom.
We replaced the last Championship coach with another Championship coach. He had a hell of a run and it's time to move on.

If I have to mention the fact the Les Miles was an average coach at Oklahoma State whenever we hired him. If you give another coach the defensive coordinators he's had then that coach would do just as good if not better. I'm not even sure what les actually brought to the table besides crappy offenses and good recruiting.

It's remarkable that the happiness of so many of our fans depends on LSU's victory in a convincing fashion in every football game or - conversely - how losses enrage them so much that they lose sight of the fact that it's only a damn game.

Our Hubris will never sign a recruit, hire an Offensive Coordinator, hire a Defensive Coordinator, hire a Special Teams coach, run a practice, assign a depth chart, call a play, make halftime adjustments, decide whether or not to go for it on 4th down, or be the focus of a press conference.

To answer your question: NO.

I've been sitting in that stadium since September 1963. I've seen this shite show before.

Miles had the advantage of a full cupboard to work with. The next coach is not walking into the exact same situation. We have some very good skill position players the lines on both sides are not what they were 10 years ago.

You won't be able to judge the coaching position demand until it is vacant.

The question remains. Are you willing to concede that it is entirely possible that the real "shite show" may just be getting started if we fail to make the right hire?
