Yes. Every member of the team contributes in some way. Just because you dont always see it on gamedays doesnt mean he doesnt contribute.

You mean you want to know if anyone here can accurately predict the future?

Quit dissecting his choice of words. That's annoying.

Maybe he should have had a better choice of words. His post suggests Washington contributes nothing to the team based on his minutes. That's annoying.

He'll be Collins back up this year at LT and could possibly start there next year.

Think he's La'el's backup now that Hawkins is starting at RT.

No, Hawkins is the first tackle off the bench and most likely a starter there next season

Evan can play some guard too. How will his pt this year compare to guys like Jonah Austin and Derrick Edinburgh?

Really? That's a move I've wanted to see for a while now. Feel like that's a great way to get our best guys out there.

Per who?

Alexander was hurt for the Spring game, and Hawkins started in his place. Apparently, the coaches liked Hawkins there and are considering making the move permanent. This move shifts Alexander over to LG, with Williford backing him up.

Bear in mind nothing is set in stone at this point, especially considering Alexander was hurt for a good part of the Spring.

Full projected depth:

LT Collins - Washington
LG Alexander - Williford/Austin
C Porter - Pocic/Williford
RG Turner - Fanaika
RT Hawkins - Edinburgh/Pocic

Per who though? Has anyone said this, or is it just speculation since Hawkins played well all spring at both spots and Alexander was dinged up and missed the spring game?

We returned guys from the offensive line that have played a lot of football. La’ el Collins, Josh Williford, Trai Turner, Vadal Alexander, and we think Jerald Hawkins is going to play some very significant football for us.

Another of LSU’s young and talented offensive linemen … Had a great spring and will push returning starter Vadal Alexander for playing time in 2013 … Can play either tackle position, but will likely see most of his initial action at right tackle … Redshirted as a true freshman in 2012.

And The Valley Shook:

quote:

Things get interesting when you talk about the offensive line though. You have La'El Collins, Trai Turner, Vadal Alexander and Josh Williford as a solid base of returnees. Elliot Porter at center is a bit of a question mark given the consistency we've been used to out of P.J. Lonergan the last few years, but he did see enough action last year that I don't consider him that green.

How the starting lineup and the rest of the two-deep shapes up is where things get a bit interesting though. Jerald Hawkins had a great spring, and there's been some talk of him stepping in at right tackle, with Alexander sliding over to left guard and Josh Williford manning the T-Bob Hebert Memorial Swingman Backup position. And at least two true freshmen, Ethan Pocic and Josh Boutte, have the talent to step in quickly. Pocic worked at center in the spring -- was that where the coaches view him playing full time, or was that due to a lack of depth at that position? To me, if you think Pocic is one of your top 6-8 linemen, it makes sense to have him ready to go at multiple positions in case of injury.
