Why the outrage over a potential firing?

You have the highest paid coaching staff in the country that isn't producing, a rabid fanbase and a state that expects either championships or staying in the hunt for them? The occasional 2 or 3 loss season is fine but it isn't unreasonable to expect better.
No need to remind us of the 90s. I was there. We simply didn't invest in football like we do now. 2003 changed the mindset and expectations. LSU deserves better and are willing to pay and risk everything to get there. I commend the mentality.

No matter the issue or topic , there is always going to be opposition. Some people will not look at a set of facts or see the trends in a particular debate.
Coach Miles could go 20-20 in the SEC during the next five seasons and there would be a certain percentage of the fan base that would be happy with those results.
Everything has an opposite. Good is defined because evil is defined. Wet is defined because the idea of dryness exists. Cold is defined because hotness exists. There will be a divided fan base because not all minds think alike. Personally, I would give Miles one more year to turn the ship. Every team not named Alabama has struggled to win big in the SEC West. Ole miss, State, A&M, Auburn, and LSU have at least three losses on the season. Arkansas too. The West digests itself. Ole Miss owns Bama. LSU owns A&M . A&M owns Arkansas. Arkansas owns LSU. Alabama Owns LSU. Not an easy ride for anyone.

Good post. One more year won't fix the huge chasm between where we are and where we need to be. Had the 3 losses come due to say a turnover or a last minute drive or even tangible reasons, I would say the room for improvement justifies waiting a year. But you've seen us play.

Agreed. But not just about is and losses. 3 losses this year wpuldve been perfectly acceptable had they been competitive..and not 3 in a row.
These 3 games have just reminded everybody of what we've had all along..apt of promise, but when people start playing us well, there is ZERO adaptability.
Even 2011, the last two games showed the same thing.
