Last year was decent with CSF, but this year is a joke. No one can disagree.

Because LSU plays 3 of the top 5, 2 of those series on the road.

because we have them waiting in line to play us
we do not have to pay to travel
we keep all the money
we still get to omaha on a regular basis
the sec is tough enough
the object is to win the cws

Nothing new. PM has been scared to schedule decent teams. I think that is part of the reason we struggle in SEC play. It's hard to test kids when you play shite schools

We make much more bank by hosting teams without having to agree to a home and home series. I would like to see a series with a west coast team or some ACC teams though.

Because lsu already plays scar, Florida, Arkansas, ole miss and Vanderbilt in weekend series and even with the sweep of CSF the selection committee did not select a 36-20 LSU team.

This is one school of thought Lester and I am not disagreeing with you. However, it could be that the last couple of years we've struggled against UF, USC, etc because they were just better than we were.

They don't care who you play obviously, cause we swept csf and we still didn't make it.

Baseball has been to the cws twice in the past seven years.

Basketball has been to the final four once in the past six years.

Maybe basketball will go this year so we can say we go to the final four on a regular basis.

They were busy printing $5:53 on our tickets and prepairing the 8:00 chicken tender baskets.

And making sure all the lights worked in the Alex Box sign

Good job on picking a time frame that fits your argument

My guess is because of last season, and not making the field at all. You load up on a bunch of cupcakes, and the odds are you end up with a record good enough to make the NCAA (40+ wins overall).

LSU has to schedule a certain amount of home games every year to pay for the new stadium. This means we can not schedule home and home with the big out of conference teams. So instead we just get a bunch of home games against nobodies. No big school wants to come to the box and not get a series at their place later down the road.

There are some dumb, and I mean DUMB, post on this site but this one may be the dumbest of all. This is the most insane logic I've ever heard here. You are a fricking idiot.

the southern US is full of a good mid level teams that would travel to the box to play at LSU.

Kim, I agree those teams were probably better than us, but i think playing at least 2 top 50 teams or so could help PM settle on his lineup easier. I don't know, maybe it is just me but it seems some guys play really good against bad teams, and earn a starting job going into SEC play. Then once they face SEC pitching, they struggle, then PM has to scramble to find someone capable.

Shoot, maybe he just likes to tinker with the lineup a lot, i dont know. Seems the last few years, esp the last 2, we have had a revolving door at 2-3 positions when they used to never happen at LSU. Maybe the players just sucked? Maybe PM missed the boat by not finding capable guys in the Out of Conf portion of the schedule? Who knows.

I just think the players would benefit playing some tougher games. The CSF series was perfect. It's a shame we came out the next week and played Florida, because our confidence was sky high and our team was playing well. We play FL really tough but got swept, and that pretty much put a dagger in the confidence of the players. Looking back the season pretty much ended with that series last year

With schools building new stadiums, college baseball becoming more popular and stadiums filling up more, less of the big schools want to pass up the revenue knowing LSU won't return the trip.
