I cant understand why so many people want one more season. It will be no different than what we are getting now. You same people that are wanting him to stay another year will be that same people that say we should have let him go this year when we lose next year. Its a business, so many of you want him back because your feeling sorry for him. Did you feel sorry for him after last week when we had just lost our 3rd game in a row and looked lost. If he hasn't been able to win with the talent he has now, next year will be no different. Run right, run left, pass, Punt!!

If he stays it will be the exact same thing all over again and we will have wasted Fournette's entire career here.

I say one more season unless we can get Jimbo.
Without Jimbo i think we'd be settling on a coach instead of hiring one we really want. Jimbo is the only homerun hire i can see this year. One more season would allow us to reel in a good recruiting class and find a better replacement. We'd be better off long term.

Look at OSU, MIchigan, Bama, etc. All the good hires recently were about timing. OSU even used an interim coach to get Urbs. Others like USC and Texas were rushed hires made out of necessity. You have to time it to where a great coach is going to fall into your lap, not take a shot on an up and coming guy who could be a bust, just because we're mad at Miles. Thats the mistake LSU has made in the past. Gotta keep a level head!

Am I the only one that thinks $15 million just to buyout is a lot of wasted money? Think you pay a lot for a ticket now. Then probably buyout another coaches contract then sign a contract with him. This could be a 20 plus million swing.

Because, unless you can hit a "homerun" and hire THE MAN, there aren't any better coaches that are willing or available. And NO, Gruden would not be a homerun.

I like Miles but He has to let go of the old style football he wants to play. Times change...he has to change with it. We would not have won the last 2 NC without those 2 QB's. We won't win another one until we have a good QB at the helm.

I agree, His Big Ten old fashioned style football just don't cut it in the SEC anymore.

There's no arguing that. I think this was a long time coming, but we need to be smart about the timing, and not just can him because of something he's been doing since day 1, when there arent really any better options. A bad hire sets us back 5-10 years. Its gotta be a homerun, like a pro coach or big name college coach. Even if it takes another year for that to come available.

This is the same thing as a girlfriend and boyfriend that are on the break and convince each other that "one more chance" could save everything...even though the root of the relationship is broken.

If a private donor(s) want to give the money, then who am I to tell them how they want to spend their own cash.

Im hopefully confident that they would have a guy locked up before pulling the trigger on such a huge deal.

Im hopeful but not confident,

If this turns into a search committee/ national search then we screwed up.

Im not sure about the rest of you but I care about wins and championships, not a guys feelings who makes 4 mil a year with all the talent he has been given. Could LSU be making a mistake, possibly, but Id be willing to support the chance to find out than what we have seen the last few years.

Let him stay, LSU turns into Texas and Les is our Mack Brown

With the ridiculous amount of jobs up for grabs this year, there will be nobody worth getting next year because everybody will be getting raises and/or settling into a new coaching job.

Well the "boosters" making these decisions will just tack a larger surcharge on my season tickets so it is coming out of my pocket and now I will pay more to see that great UL Monroe game.
