Why not try the guy who last year was 2nd in HRs and RBI?

It's not even debatable at this point that we need someone who can hit doubles and home runs in the lineup, and more importantly cam deliver with RISP.

Why is Romero not getting a legitimate shot at DH when 80% of our team's problems this year are related to the absence or another big bat in the lineup.

At this point, I have to wonder if he were to start hitting like he did most of last year he'd be a better option at catcher despite the 10% more stolen bases he'd surrender.

This team needs offense in the bottom half of the lineup in the worst way. I don't see any reason not to give him some extended PT and see it he can get hot.

Because he has a torn labrum in his right shoulder and a nagging high ankle sprain.

Last week when he batted he couldn't take a full swing and when he ran to first one at bat he was limping like one leg was 3 inches shorter than the other.

He's also batting .200 with the third lowest on-base % of any batter with 15 or more plate appearances. Even Breaux's obp was almost 25 points higher coming into tonight's game.

Right now, our biggest problem with our lineup is hitters swinging at shite off the plate and or below the strike zone. I'm not sure if Romero is the answer or not.

Our 1-4 seem to be on. 5-9 like to chase pitches.

That ump did us no favors with that wild strike zone, they basically had to swing at everything cuz it was probably gonna get called a strike.

If that's the case then it makes sense. I was going by into i read on here that he was fully healthy, so maybe I was misinformed about that.

why nit just watch a game? The Romero situation is clear, he is not the best option anywhere on this team. Not at catcher, not at DH. Not as a pinch hitter against a pitcher that can locate his fastball

When fully healthy (he's not) Romero should get a shot at the DH position, even though he complained last year that he is a better hitter when catching, not DH'ing.

If healthy you can use him to spell or PH for Papierski, but now way, no how does he catch Lange or against teams that run aggressively on the bases. His defense is suspect. He could catch Poche, but with the way Lange likes to throw his curve in the dirt you can't play him back there.

I feel bad for the guy. He is giving it his best, but if he were a horse, they would have shot him and put him out of his misery by now.
