Why not Re-Seed Prior to CWS

Can anyone explain why the NCAA does not re-seed teams after the supers. It is ridiculous that a team who was not previously seeded can get on a streak and advance to Omaha and take the seeded spot as if they earned it during the season. If a non seeded team wins the deck should be re-shuffled. This year it is huge, because we are the #8 and Florida is #1. With re-seeding, the winner of the Clemson regional would very likely capture the # 8 spot and we would move up to play #2. Just saying'

They used to do that prior to the Super Regional format and half the time the seedlings never made sense

Probably because teams would bitch if they got a tough draw. They'd say "why the hell did y'all put us against the number one overall team". We don't deserve that. We are better than team x.

By setting up all the seeds ahead of time the committee can wash its hands of all that

Rich get richer is the only thing I can think of.

What if the Cinderella team gets in and bam, #1 team in the country.

I like the format as is....unless it's Florida, a&m, and lsu on one side of the bracket

Because it's a tournament. That'd be like them shuffling the teams in the NCAA basketball tournament after the first two rounds. Doesn't make sense.

Why not reseed after every game? Because you keep punishing a team that might be peaking.

There's no difference between #1 and #2 in college baseball IMO... For that matter, there's little if any difference between #1 and #8.

#8 just took a series from #1 two weeks ago.... #6 won #1s conference

I see your position, but I also see the other side ... Who cares, it doesn't matter, waste of time to re-seed, let these 8 teams play and it'll sort itself out. The best team at the right time in Omaha will rise to the top and blow through all the seeds.

The difference in the talent level between the teams at the CWS is so narrow it really doesn't matter much.

Complete thread hijack but I figured someone here would know or tell me it's been discussed already.

I always thought lsu to remove anything lsu related from the field for post season games, to give it a neutral look, even though we are hosting.

Was just watching the ULL game and they had RAGIN CAJUNS still painted just beyond the coaches box on the 1st base line.

Is it not a rule any longer? I noticed LSU's on deck circles didn't have the lsu logo on it now. Just curious.

Doesn't makes much sense that they don't. All the teams are already ranked.

A team that upsets a higher seeded team is rewarded by getting the benefits the higher-seeded team would have gotten had they won as expected.

Yeah makes no sense. Like saying lets reseed basketball once the remaining teams make it to the final 4

because the team who beat the number 1 is rewarded.

it's kind of shitty to tell a team they have to beat the number seed and then have to do it again.

you knock off the top seed, you get rewarded.
