You know what's fricking stupid? The fact that PM and Dunn knew they weren't going to have Latz and Marshall, since last fall and couldnt produce a third starter because they didnt recruit the talent like Vandy and UCLA. That's not fricking stupid, that's the fricking reality.

So much misinformation being construed in this thread...

Latz's injury was not known until February - not that they could have done anything different anyway.
UCLA did not make it out of their own regional. They have one CWS title total.
Mainieri has been to Omaha 4 times at LSU. Vanderbilt has been to Omaha 3 times in their entire program history. They also have one total title with a decent shot at another this year.

I keep hearing we didn't recruit Leger because we had the #1 recruiting
class of pitchers. After the collapse of our staff except for Lange, why is
this statement still being used. Marshall was proved to be overrated and
several others just weren't ready.
My friend in Lake Charles that is involved with Barbe told me that Leger was
the victim of several very over used pitchers that came out of Barbe. He said
Leger was never the number 1 pitcher until his senior year and is still physically
maturing. Trey Quin and Kennon Fontenot were the top pitchers growing up.
His velocity isn't great but has improved greatly the last few years as
he has put on weight, which he is still thin. He didn't say that LSU should have
taken him, just that they evaluated him incorrectly
Makes me question our staff's evaluation process with the great number of highly
ranked pitchers that aren't panning out

As others have said, we had 3 A+ pitchers in the beginning of the year. One left after enrolling, and one was injured.

I don't understand why pulmonary insists on taking people that he knows through mystical powers will be hurt in the future. What a failure. /sarcasm

If, and I mean if the pitching staff is better next year, our offense will be suffering due to inexperience.

Defensive range in college baseball is far more valuable than having power arms in the outfield.
There are more opportunities to record an out on balls hit.. You can't score if you are constantly getting robbed
I truly cannot believe some people who bitch about the lack of arm strength in the outfield. Of course you'd like both.. But range >>>>>> arm. There's just more opportunities to record outs with speed and skill

Lol how can you complain over the pitching recruitment.. We are getting the #1 national hs pitcher and we just got Lange and have Latz coming off injury
That's as Talented as anyone's big three and that doesn't even include our most seasoned vet and #1 starter the last two seasons who will be a junior.
Check out the 2016 recruitment of pitchers as well. It's outstanding if they make it here.
Mac Marshall really made a difference of what could have been this season, but we will he fine going forward.

Our offense struggled at times any ways.
Pitching is what matters most.
We will be as deep as ever in pitching talent next season. We could actually stand to have some fresh defensive players and hitting.. Regardless look at some scores in Omaha.. Vandy had to beat TCU the first time 1-0! Florida lost to Virginia 1-0..

Nature of the beast. At least 5 post in this short thread from
5 different posters who are completely inaccurate.
