WTF? He had gone through their lineup 4 times and they were hitting him pretty good. He obviously was getting tired, so why bring him back in the 9th? WTF Maineri?

Probably because of his last outing was a CG. Was a mistake but didn't matter. Will make him a better pitcher in the long run.

wins are more in portent that CG. he was getting tired, got through the 8th which was admirable, but clearly was spent.

Bullpen has been erratic lately...Probably the best move, but he left the ball up, it happens...

i really want to know why people keep saying he was getting hit hard all night. dude was tired, had thrown 108 pitches, and shouldn't have come back out. that's it, end of story. up until his last pitch, he pitched a hell of a game. one walk and 11 strikeouts through 8 innings is not a sign of a guy that had been struggling. he was tired

Don't let hindsight puff you up. Be honest. What pitcher are you most comfortable with on the whole staff to get 3 outs?

Bigger mistake was throwing a fastball first pitch to the pinch hitter in that situation. The location made it worst case scenario.

OP GTFO

Lange is a deity on the mound, there's no better arm than his on that field. If he was pulled and that shot was hit, you'd be calling for CPM's head.

I had absolutely ZERO problem with him starting the 9th. He was a misplayed ball in center and a shite throw from Foster from completing that game.

His leash was short in the 9th and was pulled at the right time.

My biggest problem was giving a pinch hitter a straight down the pipe first pitch fastball. That was the only thing that hitter was looking for and he didn't miss it.

Because we have no real closer. I'll take a tired Lange over anyone coming out of our bullpen.

You will never be happy dude. Get over it. Maineri knows his team better than you. Shut it!
