I wish our fans would stop whining about officiating every time we lose a game. It's really embarrassing and only makes us all sound like a bunch of cry babies. Are penalties sometimes missed in games? Absolutely, on both sides. But that isn't why we lost this game. And to say Bama gets away with murdsr and is never penalized against us because they have the refs on their payroll in some way is pitiful.

In our game with Bama we were called for exactly 1/2 the penalties that they were.

Penalties against the Tide: 6
Called against our Tigers: 3

Check the game summary at ESPN if you don't believe it.

Please give it a rest.

It's not the numbers....it's the timing and the game changing potential that matter......great way to obfuscate and deflect though....but we are not falling for that shite...

It is the penalties that aren't called like the three illegal blocks in the backfield on the only TD play of the game. Yes Bama is the better team, but they don't need the "extra" help.

Look I'm only saying it's not the cause of our loss and we should stop sounding like we all think it was every time we lose.

You speak of the timing of bad call. I watched the replay of the game last night.

Their left guard was called for illegal motion on the 3rd and goal on our 1 yard line late in the 4th. The guy never moved. Not even a flinch. No one on their line did. Watch it in slow motion. I did. None of them moved. They ended up kicking the FG after failing to score from the 6 or 7 after that. I'm not defending them but saying the refs did not cause our situation.

The hit out of bounds call was a third down play that would have seen Bama punting. Instead, first down, 15 yards...leading to bama TD (where there's numerous non-calls).
Sure, buddy, it doesn't make a difference.

While Key and Bower are obvious they are away from play. Neal WAS in position for the tackle. There's your difference in the game

I can deal with missed holds, intentional groundings and such but what infuriates me is allowing Bama to get away with the bad hits on key players. I will bet that if you go back through the season you will find one or two questionable hits in every game. However, when roles get reversed and a Bama guy receives the hit it seems to be called.

I love college football for the emotional aspect which is missing in the pros. I love to see an overmatched opponent come out and show great courage taking and GIVING good hits. The refs keep robbing us of this in the Bama games. If they are to be considered superior athletes then make them prove it and don't steer the intensity to their favor by calling or not. There were three situations Saturday night, two no calls and one call, which make my point and possibly five more that no one other than the teams in film study know about.

Fournette in the open field on Foster (one of Bama's most notorious cheapshot artists) could have been the collision of the year but the actions of the ref took it from us. I do not understand getting bigger if you want to be avoided but that's what he did, got right in front and spread his legs. Was he protecting one of those guys from ending up on Fournette's highlight reel or from Fournette using his abilities to change a game? We will never know but I encourage you to watch the clip of his actions which has been posted many times.

Fine. But that play would have been a delay of game penalty anyway as the play clock had hit zero as well when the penalty was called.

That's possibly true...and yet, it sure would be nice for not only LSU but for the rest of the league to get a chance to play BAMA without having to always say, "Sure...they may get some advantageous calls, but it's not the SOLE reason we lost."

LSU is a fricking charter member of the SEC, and yet we act as if we need to take a second class to seat and simply grin and bear it when calls and league decisions routinely go not just against us but in favor of our rival that is most directly in our way.

You can feel free to remain silent and allow this to continue, but I'm fully ok with "sounding like a bitch" if at some point enough light is shone on this issue that change will be forced upon it. Sometimes doing the right thing means putting oneself in an uncomfortable position. If the only way people are going to feel ok about complaining about the annual prison raping we take at the hands of the Birmingham based SEC officials is if BAMA fans themselves decide they are getting too many calls and side with us, we'll never move forward.

None of this is to say there is some darkroom conspiracy...plain old bias is enough to make a huge difference.

I'm not even mad about the final result—I'm over it. But the disparity of calls was outrageous. Just like the hit on noil when he was returning a kick, the hit on Etling where he was sliding feet-first and the bama player led with the crown of his helmet, that should've been a personal foul for targeting and an automatic rejection. Yet, they didn't stop the game for further review, even. The hit wasn't heinous, but it doesn't have to be. As the rule is written, the call should've been automatic.

Had the SEC and Florida not tried to totally screw us, in the name of "player safety," I might not be so adament about the no-call being completely farcical, but it doesn't make sense that they didn't make that call on the field or in Birmingham.

Illegal motion isn't offsides.

I'm just numb to it all. When Peterson got robbed of his interception to Jordan Jefferson getting speared on a late hit RIGHT IN FRONT OF A REF and this years bull shite it goes on and on. Sad but true. Alabama gets the calls EVERY FRICKIN YEAR.

So do we have to wait until it is the only cause of our loss to demand to have the game officiated properly/fairly? They don't score that touchdown and face a third and 19 if holding is called. That could have changed the game.

Declined or offset penalties are not recorded as fouls on a stat sheet
