he does receive well for a college catcher- definitely his biggest strength

it was fun watching the Missouri series and seeing the difference in catchers. Mizzou's kid was a liability

Very natural and confident. Whatever that means. I love his quick return before the strike is even called.

Hes a top 15 round guy but the reality is that there isn't a ton of projectability there. Hes pretty close to being maxed out and he's 22. At 24 in the minors you are ancient. His margin of error is razor thin. Hes a really good college player. What is wrong with that? why can't that be enough?

Not sure why everyone is putting so much in his catching defense. I'd think he could be a solid 1 day a week guy to give starting catcher a rest plus a dh possibility. That should get him 10th Rd or better.

Average age in majors as a rookie is normally around 24. Average age in triple A ball is normally around 28. Not sure how 24 is ancient anywhere.

The OP is asking why Kade isn't a top MLB prospect, we are giving him opinions as to why he isn't.

He was #2 in the Johnny Bench award and was drafted high. Can you and all your cohorts tell me now that you were right?

Notice that I knew he was #2 before he was #2. I also know that some of you on here are silent now who slandered this young man. I know who you are. So, come out with your shite! Be a man.... Or, a BengalBelle.

I read the whole thread. Not one person slandered him. The others were having a mature discussion about Scivique's abilities. You were being a dick.

I can see their point about Scivique being good, but not quite good enough to make it to MLB. However, Scivique improved a lot in the last year, so that gives me hope he'll continue to improve even at this late age.

There were plenty of comments about him going in the top 5 rounds for money reasons. He hasn't signed yet. When he does, and it's for well below slot, those people will be as right as they can be at this point.
