Why is there a holdup on the time announcement?

They're trying to figure out if they can logistically turn it into a primetime game on Friday Night. They can get far more revenue with a primetime slot, being the only college football game on TV than buried at 11:00am on SEC Network.

CBS is the holdup. They don't want this game against their time slot.

LSU likely clamoring for more time to get the stadium venue ready. USC wanting later kickoff to boost last-minute ticket sales.

It did seem odd to me they announced the move and ticket sales with no time yet in stone.
It's political shite with ESPN I'm sure, USCe wants the game later, need tp help them out and get it later to maximize their profits.

They are telling vendors the game is at 11.. I assume that since it hasnt been officially announced that they are still trying to work there way through the TV contracts to find the best available alternative because its clear that they dont wont the game at 11

I agree kingbob, I think ESPN would change the 11 AM start on ESPN for a Friday night spot, but they don't want a 3PM spot with a lot of competition that probably USC and LSU would prefer. I think $ will win this argument.
