Why is playing TCU @ Jerry World a good thing?

I understand national tv BUT 1. First game of the year versus a quality opponent rather than a cupcake to work out the kinks on. 2. We give up a home game to travel 800 miles play a team located 20 miles from the stadium. It would be like playing in the Superdome a University located in Mandeville. WHERE Is the Upside?

In victory on a national stage. It's in the fact that LSU hesitates to play NO ONE. It's in the fact that we never back down. It's in the fact that we win because we came here to do so.

Because the road trip is fun as hell. Jerry world is bad arse. Why play a cupcake? If Lsu can't handle TCU then they have problems and the drive isn't that bad. Guess u didn't go to oregon?

Because we had a home and home scheduled, which instead of backing out of completely, they came to an agreement to play one game and have it be the opener next year to a national audience.

What's the downside?

Huh? Playing Oregon was one of the best preparations for last season. Let's be the best and not shy away from competition. That is weak and screams Gators.

Let them finish top 10 this season and open up there. We go in and win by 30, they are out of any discussion of a title, everyone had a blast, and we move on to week 2.

Ala Oregon last year. We blew their doors off and it was the best road trip I've ever taken.

It worked out pretty well for us last year, don't you think? Isn't it pretty apparent that playing North Texas, Washington, and Idaho all at home didn't really prepare us for our first SEC road game?

Plus, that game was fun as frick last year. I'm for sure going again next year

Hell, I'm I favor of going to Eugene the week after Jerry World and then at OSU in week 3.

After the Oregon I read tons of posts bitching about Jerry World, "Can't see" "hard to tailgate there" etc. Now everybody is "Wow! This is great! Can't wait!".

Working out what kinks?? Met will be back next year along with key skill players on Offense. Defense loses 4 off DL and 1 Safety...we should and will be more than ready as we were for Oregon

Must be. I'd say Dallas was maybe one of the most popular road trips ever. Seattle too, but numbers wise, Dallas.
