Why is O dead set on redshirting Narcisse?

Can anyone give reasonable answer to this? Is it just me or doesn't Narcisse seem like a better option to run Canada's offense? Hes a over a year removed from acl surgery he's got the weight to play SEC football, and O already said the competition between him and Brennan was paper thin.

I think he wants to save him for next year because taking the redshirt off the kid now would just be a waste of a year of eligibility.. He and Brennen will be a nice one-two punch for next year.

I agree with this . Maybe they want to give his knees as much time to heal as possible . Behind this offensive line you could ruin his career quickly .

Yeah - he's had major procedures (I think both ACL reconstruction) on both knees at this point.

Great talent, but who knows if his knees will hold up to 10 years or 10 plays of football?

I don't have a problem with red shirting Narcisse. Since we had Etling and Brennan available, there is no reason to waste his red shirt year over a couple of plays.

I think O (and maybe Canada) are trying to protect Narcisse. Give him a little more time to heal and get physically ready. He will take a lot of hits, assuming he will be running the ball a lot and working behind a below average OL. Also, why have your 2 QBs of the future in the same class? I like having them slightly staggered (like Russell and Flynn and Booty and Davey). You can question why Brennan over Narcisse, but I'm guessing Narcisse was not quite there with the offense and they wanted to protect a QB of the future.

Redshirts are outdated in today's get-it-now culture. If Narcisse wins the competition next year he probably won't hang around to take advantage of the RS.
Maybe he hasn't grasped the playbook yet (Narcisse AND O).

Why question what Orgeron does and does not do? He's clearly inept.

His entire plan was to hire the best coordinators and let them coach. He admitted that he had made mistakes while at Ole Miss by trying to micromanage everything. He clearly meddled with Canada and his offense during the Troy loss. Hence, Alleva's emergency meeting with Orgeron and the coordinators.

Furthermore, Alleva still (emphasis added) doesn't trust Orgeron. Hence the Sunday film review. Can you imagine Nick Saban or Urban Meyer sitting down with their AD and doing film review the Sunday following the game?

With as much running that Etling did Saturday, it definitely is intriguing to see a DT in an actual DT style offense.

At this point it's best to go ahead and leave the redshirt on him. Next year Brennan will more than likely be the starter going into the season, but I really do believe Narcisse will have his chance to show what he can do very early into the season. Because Brennan is young, at some point he will make some mistakes and the coaching staff will grow restless as more of them are being made. Whenever Narcisse gets his opportunity, it will be up to him to take it and do something with it.
