in the sec champ game vs georgia the dude was a boss and that whole year he was a solid rb. ever since then he has seemed to of gone down hill and doesnt seem to be near the runner he was that season. is it cause of the stable of rb's we have or do you think it was just a fluke couple of breakout games he had. he wont get many touches at all once hill gets back but used to be looked at as our future star rb

ding ding ding, we have a winner. he dosent get as many carries and opportunities as he did his freshman year. specially with hill back the RB position is log-jammed.

Remember to bump this thread when they need him later in the season and he runs for 100+ yards and three td's against somebody.

I don't think that's the point he is trying to make. He regressed tremendously last year.

Don't be too quick to write of Hilliard.

When he came into the game it was for power running plays only. TCU was already stacking the line of scrimmage, and they were run blitzing Hilliard on every play.

He gained 15 lbs. Which he has now lost. But he's an INSIDE guy. If a team stacks the box like TCU or Bama, we won't see much Hilliard. The best thing that could happen to Hilliard is Mett's progression, which will keep defenses honest and give Kenny a chance to excel.

I don't think opportunity is the problem. His running style is not what it was. He had a couple carries on 1st and 10 and he leaped into a pile at the line of scrimmage for no gain.

He had what.. 4 carries? Everyone is gushing over Magee and Blue. How many yards did each of them have after 4 carries? Honestly don't know, but I don't think it was much.

Kenny is still over weight, losing 9 pounds to get to 231 is still to heavy Kenny should be playing at about 218

say what you like but...

Hilliard did own the state rushing record( still does I believe), AND he didn't have the luxury running behind a 5*, and soon to be NFL tackle La'el Collins like Hill did.

If he were better in practice, he would have gotten more carries in the game. Not that he is a bad back, there are just 3 guys who are better than him at this point.

I have to agree with the OP. He looked way more explosive as a freshman. Him and Blue both looked tentative.
