LSU is winning granted not the way we want or would like and a lot of you do not like the Coaching staff. But, why do you want to take a chance at ruining this teams chemistry, what little there is, to get at the Coaching staff? What if this team that all of you are bent on booing for the first mistake in this game Saturday night would happen to go undefeated like the one above? I do not understand why you want the team to be error less but, at the same time you want to create an atmosphere for them to loose in and that is what puzzles me.

This team is made up of young men who came to this university to play the sport they love and do not think for a minute that the young men we are recruiting now are going to be seeing what you the so called LSU Fans are doing when you start booing them for making a mistake.

Every game is the beginning of a new game, the previous game is history win or loose and as athletes they are taught to forget that last game and focus on this game. Why can't we as fans do the same thing. Look at that schedule of the 1958 National Champions, a team that every team here at LSU is measured by, they went through a year much like this team this year is going through. Coach Deitzel split that team into 3 different teams in oder to have them all have a part in the team on the field because he felt it gave them a better shot at winning.

You think the going was easy? When you see the records of the previous 5 years you will see that back then nobody was expecting LSU to win crap. Look at it for yourself.

1957 6-5; 1956 3-7 the first 6 were loses;
1955 3-5-2; 1954 5-6; 1953 5-3-3

As you can see LSU was not a great power. What do you think those fans where thinking by the time they got down to Miss St and that year they were 3-6 and held LSU to a 7-6 score. How would have reacted to that game?

You can say all you want to about me I do not care, because there is not a single one of you I would drive over 500 miles to see, let alone play football. But, I believe over 25,000 fans would not have driven to see this team play at Vandy if they did not think LSU did not have a chance at winning that game and all the rest and they did not love their Tigers. Vandy or no Vandy, this is the SEC where on any given day/night a team can beat another team if the team that is expected to win does not play good enough to win.

I ask you this week not to boo those kids let them play their game and let's hope they keep progressing each week and by the end of the year let's see where they stand. I know you want to act like the bully on the block or on the school ground but, with this team as fans we can make or break this teams year by going out in that stadium and booing. I feel there is a better way to get your point across and that is by staying home and keeping your tickets to your self and letting the empty seats speak for you.

If you do not think that will work just try it once and you will see how loud of a message that would speak. But, I ask you do not boo those kids, those kids are not the Coaches so I ask you do not cost them their shot at winning it all after all they have not lost a game. Boo me but do not I am asking you as a Tiger Fan do not boo the team!

As Always! I SAY!

Sorry, I haven't read all of your post. But are you really using the scores from the 1958 season to prove a point?

No! I am showing you the progression of the way a team did that had to learn how toplay at a differnt level than at what they were used to. It is a process that takes time to learn and develope. Look at what it took our 2003 team the seasons leading up to it and that went for Saban also.

you are using rational thought to talk to irrational fans, that will never work. they have made up their minds and you will not change them

I'm not completely sure, but I think the game of football has changed dramatically since 1958 like the emphasis on the forward pass and moving away from the single wing....

No matter how bad it gets...and sometimes it gets bad ('98-'99), you never boo your team. Some folks claim it's because they care so much that they boo....bull$hit. They boo because they are classless and irrational. Like to see them grab the ball and take a one good lick and see if they can even form a monosyllabic word after all is said and done. You never boo your team. Geaux Tigers!

It has nothing to do with the way the game is played it is all about having your players playing at a higher level than anyone else and that takes time. How many of the players are left from the last NC? Exactly, they have to learn the process at playing at a higher level and that means practicing at that higher level also.

I will never EVER boo this team. Ever. I know the idiots will do it though and it's a damn shame. I just hope it's not too bad if they do during Miss St.

Sticky this one.

This is a young group of players, we should do everything we can to support their progress, and instill confidence in this team.

How about our fans show a little class and not boo our team and our amatuer student athletes.

I mean seriously, when you show up at your school's game and boo, you need to look in the mirror and self evaluate.

Can we boo if the LSU coaches run the option with Jefferson again?

The same reason we were booing last year. You do remember last year right? Where people like you where on here saying, "a win's a win, lets support the team. Right now we are undefeated", after scraping through every shite team we played. And how did last year turnout??? Good???

I am upset because we shouldn't have to scrape by a horrible vandy team, or a crippled north carolina team. I get upset now, because like last year, there are no signs of changing what's wrong for the better. The positiger attitude is great, but in the end, it's like giving a kid a trophy for losing the big game. Yeah, it makes them feel "warm and fuzzy" inside, but it doesn't teach them any lesson. It says, that it its ok to fail, you'll get a trophy anyway.

Booing the coaches and booing the players are two way different things.

Problem is, inside the stadium, when the boos come down, no one can decipher who is being booed.

if players are distracted by fans booing their supposed beloved team, how is this display of anger supposed to help us win a game?
if potential recruits hear the fan base turning on players/coaches who across the board appear to be giving 100% effort, how does that help our recruiting?

aside from you gumps disguised as lsu fans, either sell your ticket and stay at home or don't be a loudmouth and boo. those certainly are good choices for the spoiled rotten a-holes in our crowd.

Maybe booing our wins is becoming a new tradition?
Who knew?
Maybe some will 'get so frustrated' with the wins they dump their tickets in anger.
Maybe we have 'ghost-tigers' that float around booing everything.

This is my second post. I've been reading this board for about three years and signed up about a year ago. I've been a Tiger fan since I was a kid. I've been in the Air Force for 22+ years which has kept me from living in Louisiana.

As a Tiger fan living out of state, sometimes out of the country and having to hear the crap from all other schools fans year in a year out, trying to explain what LSU football means to the fans, defending our football team and coaches, it has become my mission to only lift up LSU. Sure there are times when I want to throw my remote into the tv because the players, coaches, and the refs screw it up. But, what I will never do is boo LSU football. When I get ask the question, and i do, why are the LSU fans booing? I can't answer that question because I really don't know and can't figure that one out.

My point to this rant, if you will, is don't boo "The Team". Fans from other teams hear that. The players hear that. It is assumed that the players, the young men on that field are getting booed. At some point the players might just give up on the fans.

I'm sure I will get blasted for this post and that's ok. I had to post my view on this topic.

don't forget about potential recruits and players' parents. it would be nice if the spoiled brat loudmouths of our fan base thought about unintended consequences.
