Why I think Alleva's handling of the situation was a worst case scenario

First of all, this is nothing about whether you like Miles or hate him, want him to stay or want him to go.

Anyway..

Alleva basically came out and said that Les has 1 year to get it straight, or he's gone. Not the glowing support that you would want. Now recruits are going to see the writing on the wall that they are signing a 3 year contract to possibly play for their coach for 1 year. If they don't see it, it'll absolutely be told to them by other coaches.

Alleva massively fricked this whole thing up.

The only way it could have been worse is to fire him and hire someone like Dooley. It would have been comical to me but for my love of Lsu.

It is hard to believe how this played out will not have a negative impact on recruiting. Apparently Alleva was gambling on one perhaps two coaches that turned him down.

Of course the proof will be on signing day although we may see some evidence beforehand and perhaps already have.

So far we lost a recruit for next years class and two recruits that were already going to decommit before all this came out.

Hopefully it doesn't destroy the class.
