Why are still LSU fans out there expecting the rest of the nation to care about college baseball?

Are that many people watching soccer on TV and in person? Soccer highlights all over ESPN. Oops, sorry wrong board.

It's not liberal enough. I'm surprised they haven't signed a deal to carry every SWAC game

They had no idea and these were supposedly folks I would think liked baseball and were from states that had SEC schools

That's the point. People are sheep and like whatever ESPN tells them to like.

Not really, ESPN has tried multiple times over the years to feature regular season college baseball and nobody watches. They do still show the CWS and show highlights of that on Sports Center and still nobody watches. That's the real point.

If people watched and were interested they'd show it and talk about it.

The new bat/ball combo is fine. There are still plenty of HRs being hit. There's nothing wrong with having to earn a HR and not having poorly hit fly balls carry out.

I totally agree. I think home runs should be somewhat difficult that makes them more special. When everyone was hitting homers off bat handles in the late 90's and you were getting 22-14 5 hour games that was not very enjoyable to me.

Not directed at you rebel (i had to pick someone to reply to) but maybe some of you dumbass "but but baseball is way more important than mens hoops" idiots can get a reality check on that. Just wait until wade has us playing for championships in the next 3-5 years, and your gonna find out the pecking order at LSU among the sports teams. Just like back in the dale days!!!

Agree with this because $$.but I don't think college basketball isn't what it once was. It has a lot of similarities as college baseball.
Man BBall was so rockin for over a decade, but any LSU fan will say they coexisted very well together. Once that first Natty in baseball, fans needed something to hold on to because of the shitty football and basketball Post Shaq and company.
So baseball ascended to King if LSU Athletics with T&F a close second. Just the way it was until the Brady bunch run.

The sport as a whole is only popular in the south and at its peak is no where near enough eyes on the screen and ratings had to justify even a few minutes of time on any one of the platforms throughout the entire ESPN network. Take Nascar and the NHL for example, both of those professional leagues hardly get any coverage at all and both of them have vastly more fans paying attention to their respective sports than college baseball. Just like everything else in this world today and throughout the past, coverage depends on revenue generated. This is not a new concept whatsoever.

Because very few people outside of Baton Rouge care a whole lot, frankly.

Literally, if I wouldn't be following this site, I'd know nothing about this sport. Some of you guys are really in a bubble regarding College Baseball

They care about the "white dudes" on the green bills. Capitalism pure and simple.
