Why does LSU have fans that aren't really fans?

Opposing fan: Man, I just don't know how you guys keep doing it. Les is a great recruiter, but he really does go full retard on game days. There's no reason you guys should struggle with Troy and Towson.

because we had success so quickly from a decade of not playing very good football
this brought on a bevy of bandwagon fans who only expect national championships every year
it also doesnt help that our old coach is in the same division winning alot of games

A lot of so called fans are miserable people with shitty families and shitty jobs. They don't respect themselves and only respect someone else who has the whip hand over them. Saban treated them like dogshit. They loved him for it and long for those days to return.

Every fanbase has a negative fringe element.Alabama even now has a ton of negative fan's which baffles me.
We're on the verge of possibly winning 3 NC's in 4 Years yet there's a huge faction of our fanbase that is very negative and they go out of their way to find things to whine about.
It's just part of life, some people are by nature negative about everything.Glad I'm not one of those people.

I've actually never had a conversation like this.
Of course, the sun also rises in my world if LSU wins a game in a manner that is not as amazing and wonderful as some of you think is required.

You do know pretty much every fan base of every sports program has fans like this right? And they may be the most vocal.
Not all LSU fans come on tigerdroppings, if you can believe it. In fact I am one of 2 of my close friends that actually frequents this site. They are all very big LSU fans.

If you don't like him, and can't quit begging for Saban to jizz on your dry, hanging tongue, and can't understand that some years we're going to lose games to other big programs, (Alabama, Florida, etc.), then yes, you're saying frick LSU!! in the most retarted, hick dialect. These are just some of the positions advanced by so-called "Positigers" this week:
- LSU and its fans should be happy being second best in its own division of its own conference.
- LSU and its fans have no right to expect to be the best program in its own division of its own conference.

These are statements made by people who proclaim themselves to be the most ardent of LSU supporters. And yet they disparage and underestimate LSU at every turn. Puzzling, isn't it?
The statements reveal the truth: these posters aren't fans of LSU, they are a cult of one man, no different than the dreaded "Sabanistas." And they will say anything, anything at all, to protect their idol, even if it comes at LSU's expense.
Worse yet, they are scared remnants of an old order of fans who labored for decades beneath the twin clouds of inferiority complex and catastrophe syndrome. VagiTiger vestiges masquerading as something they are not.
So put me in the camp that believes Alabama has no intrinsic advantages over LSU, the camp that believes LSU can and should be the preeminent program in the SEC, the camp that believes LSU can and should establish national championship dynasties, the camp that will never accede to the proposition that LSU should be happy with second best because it's all we can achieve. That's an LSU fan.

I haven't seen many posts saying Les is a saint on here, but I'm not on here as much as I used to be. I think talking about your coach's character just leads to getting egg on your face. Look at Arky. Apparently Petrino is a good coach but not a good husband.
Look at Auburn. "All in" at one point only to be "all out" 2 years later.
A coach's character should NEVER be championed by a fan base.
