Why does it have to be so personal?

I mean, we see it every day in other job settings - sometimes things just don't work out, even if they were at the highest level in the past. No one on the planet would say Miles isn't a great guy, but as a coach we're going on at least a couple of years of mediocrity with great talent.

There's clearly a dysfunction there that isn't being remedied. How can anyone watch the games, see the breakdowns and think things should go on as per freaking usual?

It isn't a personal attack on Miles, sometimes things work out that way.

And if we, Alleva, or whoever can help make it feel less personal to players and recruits it'll be a lot better for the program.

It's all about what will come after.
Reasonable people don't expect it to be better unless it's a slam-dunk hire.

"reasonable people don't expect it to be much better"???
Watch the last three games again and tell us again how we won't be able to replace this coaching staff!!!

Definitely sounds like the feelings on the pro Miles side are more focused on it as a personal attack on him.

But he can't be happy with the situation and it's not going to magically get better if he stays. Sometimes cutting it is the best thing for both sides, even though it may seem like one side is under attack.
